TRT, VA prescribed. 400 mg/weekly. Do I need any sort of ancillary/pct?
im getting the test free, but I am going to have to pay for the arimidex or whatever I use for damage control
i have searched and havent found pct stuff specifically relating to TRT.
I am in the "low normals" for test levels.
so just need to know what I need to be taking with the test (200 mg on mon , 200 mg on thurs. has been that way for 13 months)
it started out 200mg only, but bumped up to 400 just this week, so ill inject monday and thursday.
any help would be great, gotta buy the stuff and get with it.
it feels so amazing to have my libido at teenage levels. (I am 36)
and my strength/etc are so much better.

Sheesh brother that's a heavy dose. What's your blood levels at 400/week? Definitely not a good thing long term.
Only way to tell what AI dose you need is through blood work. You can buy the AI through the site sponser.

I'd do some research on the forums before going to 400 a week or you will be swollen!
Question though, how receptive was the VA for the TRT

400mg a week is a cycle dose, not a TRT dose. If your doctor is knowledgeable at all in hormones, he will change that protocol once you have bloodwork. Staying on that dose for awhile will shoot your hematocrit sky high. If you are doing the injections yourself, I would only take half and hoard the rest for the end of the world.
As for estrogen control, you can start out at .25mg of Arimidex EOD if you are taking 400mg a week.
Don't forget to run HCG as well. A normal starting protocol would be 250iu 2x a week. I personally would dose this along with your test injections.
How soon does he want to run follow up bloodwork?

You said you were on 200mg a week,Post up your BW at this dosage. Why the jump from 200 to 400. The answer is you should not be using 400mg for trt, PERIOD! I'm curious what reasoning your doc had for going from 200 to 400, ether way he's a quack. If I were in your shoes if take the script , figure out the dosing yourself with your own BW and stash tnat test for future blasts. If you have no intention of blasting id work with the doc I get dialed in. Our goal should be at the top of the ranges for test and e2 in check. Whatever dose that is that's your trt dose.

Holy cow! 400 mg a week? I would venture you shouldn't need most of that, unless you want to be on an endless cycle. Less is often more on trt. I would start at 100 mg a week and go up from there if needed.

bad idea mate. with TRT, "less is more". I take 80mg/week and have great results. The idea is to keep your serum levels up, and side effects down. at 400mg/week, it is only a matter of time before your BP goes up, RBC/Hematocrit goes up and a variety of other side effects for being on a cycle too long. TRT is for the rest of your life, and with any drug, ideally you want to take the least amount possible and obtain the best possible benefit.
I think almost 100% of everyone here will agree.
Sorry, but you need to reduce your dose in the long term if you want optimal health.
Good luck!

ok. so I found out what happened. there was a screw up at the pharmacy. so..i ended up with twice my normal monthly dose...because the right hand didnt know what the left was doing. common complaint at the VA ..to the guy that asked.. the va has been INCREDIBLY receptive to TRT. and the money savings is a godsend.
phew. i was starting to worry about my Dr.
so I am curious about injecting an extra vial a month. (not a week). any thoughts? also, what exact test do you guys need to see? My wife is a MLT so I can request a test out of the blue. I want one for my own knowledge. so what about that extra vial?
the one before I started TRT is here
TESTOSTERONE 168 ng/dL 250-1100 Details
TESTOSTERONE.FREE/TESTOSTERONE.TOTAL 25.7 pg/mL 35.0-155.0 D
