    Self bleed

Know bass put out video and does this. I'm going to have too and was wondering if anyone else on here does it to. What's your experience with it?

I've thought of doing it myself as well. My rbc is too high. use an 18ga needle, attached to a syringe, attached to some clear plastic tubing, taped to a 1 pint water bottle. elastic tubing and something to squeeze. alcohol in a water atomizer. do it in the restroom, sitting in a chair with the toilet lid open. water bottle on the floor. dump blood in toilet when through.

watch bass' video a few times.

too bad you don't know a nursing student, or a paramedic.

    don't fvck it up.

    and good luck!

lol I'll try not too, I have extensive medic training in military but when you have to do things to yourself it's a whole new ballgame. Thanks though, bass didn't use syringe so idk. He just attached a hose straight to needle, put on cuff and went to it. I was hoping he would chime in on this but I haven't seen him in a while.

Just dont spill all over your carpet like Austinite did and have to hire a crime scene lab to clean it up for him.

I really need to get my doc to write me a script to donate since I cant just do it otherwise.

That's one thing I still am not willing to do. At least not while my Dr gives scripts for therapeutic phlebotomies.

I literally just gave blood with a hemoglobin of 18.9 and a hematocrit of 55.2. 6 months earlier they flagged me for high hematocrit(53) and told me to check with my Doctor. They told me they would not do it. I went in today to try it because my hematocrit is out of control and getting worse. They pulled me up on their computer and asked why I was deferred before and i told them about my hematocrit levels and that my Dr checked me out and said I was good to go so they pulled a higher up to over ride the system and I'm off. After seeing my hemoglobin and 18.9 she asked again why and i said its just high and my doc tested me for everything they were concerned and i was good to go. She then asked is it because of testosterone and i said no. She went quiet because I think she knew I was lieing but went ahead and did it. I'm going to go back every 8 weeks now and retest in 4 months or so.

its as easy as you giving yourself a shot! don't over think it. simply do the following,

    1. attach 5/32" clear tubing to the 18g. needle, simply press fit into the bore of the luer end, you can tape it for extra security.

    2. poke two holes on the bottle cap and insert the other tube end into one of the holes, leave the other hole open to relieve the pressure. you can tape it for extra security.

    3. wear the BP cuff but don't pump yet.

    4. sanitize the injection area with alcohol.

    5. pump the BP cuff, not too tight, just enough so your veins popup or where you can feel them.

    6. with clean fingers feel where the vein is then with a quick but firm push stick the needle into your vein, make sure the bevel is in up position, and make sure you angle the needle very shallow, don't go in with a steep angle otherwise you'll go through the vein.

    7. make sue you have a soft ball or something to lightly squeeze and keep moving your fingers to help blood flow.

NOTE: make sure you place the bottle on the floor to let gravity help pull your blood easier.

Warning, have someone with you in case you pass out, and tell them what to do in case it happens. make sure they relief the BP cuff, remove it then pull the needle out, put cotton ball and wrap it.

    Good luck!

Well tried today, had my friend who is a phlebotomist in the past stick me. She was so nervous accidentally pulled it out then tried the other one and went right through. Dam bass makes it look so easy. Well I'll try again next weekend, gonna stick my self and hold it like bass did. Was hoping to start my blast with test this week because I started my var already and now it's stalled again. Oh well!

thanks bass for your video, just finished my drain. It is so much easier me doing it myself. It started to slow down the last 100-150 ml so I just stopped. I think I got maybe 400 ml out. You think I can just do another one in about 6 weeks since I only got about 400 this time?

you can do it as often as you like as long as you don't exceed one pint within 2 months period. you can do it once a week until you get a total of one pint or 16 oz. this all depends on how fast your blood thickens, I know people who draw one pint once a week due to blood disease like Polycythemia.
