Latest test Results, what does it mean?

Hi All.. total newbie here, 1st post.

    I am 52, 5-10 and 185 pounds.
I've been on TRT for about 30 months. I get 200mg weekly. So far, no problems.. I've lost a bunch of weight (was 240lbs when I started) and hit the gym 5 days a week. I pitch baseball in a 45+ league here in Nashville and pitched well this past summer. No bad injuries

I went from 33% body fat to 11.5% currently. So, you can say I've been a success story. I feel like a teenager in more ways than 1

I just received my latest tests and here are my numbers:

    Estradiol- 49
    PSA Total- 1.2
    Testorsterone Total- 1159
    Free Testosterone - 316.4

My doc says I'm high on Estradiol and gave me 4-1mg Anastrozole pills to take. The dose is 1 pill 3 days after I get my shot. They want to bring down my estrogen level. They also want me to wait 10 days between TRT from now on to bring down my T levels.

What do you guys think? Just want to be sure I do the right thing, as I feel fine, and don't want to mess with something unless it needs messed with.

    Thanks kindly for your advice!

I'd try to avoid using the Anastrozole. No need to add another medication unless absolutely necessary. 1mg is also a large dose.

It sounds like you could benefit from splitting your injection into 100mg E3.5D. That should prevent a large spike in your E2. You may also want to lower your dose a little bit, depending on when these labs were taken.

How many days after your T injection were these labs taken?

Thanks kindly for your advice. It had been 7 days since my last shot. Was done right before I had my shot.

Those are extremely high trough numbers. Your dose is too high. I would definitely try reducing your dose and splitting your injections to twice weekly.

Congratulations on your successes! Sounds like your life has taken a new direction and be assured things will only get better.

I'd suggest when you post your blood test results you also post the ranges along with them. I will help all of us to help you better.

I agree that splitting your dose into multiple injections would help with E2 control. You may also want to consider injecting SQ which will help in this regard. And I also agree that you may want to consider lowering your dose, as well. From your numbers, you have lots of wiggle room to do that. This will also definitely help you control estradiol levels.

I dose T Cyp at 16mg/day along with hCG 125iu/day all SQ. I use Aromasin at 12.5mg every 6 days to control E2. My numbers are at the top of the range.

Here's a thought: Instead of dosing every ten days - as you doctor suggests - ask him/her about lowering your dose to 60mg every 3.5 days. See how you feel and what the blood work says.

BE VERY CAREFUL with anastrozole. It is a VERY strong medication and can knock your estrogen very low, VERY fast. I'd advise you start conservatively - perhaps half that dose..Even less. Many here just take .25mg twice a week and seem to do well on it. I would recommend you consider Aromasin. It is a much gentler AI but just as effective at its job.

As mentioned you would be better off lowering the dose 40~50mg per week rather that waiting longer between injections. I'm assuming your doctor does the injections? If not split the new lower dose of 150~160mg into two injections of 75~80mg every 3.5 days. Both of these suggested actions should resolve your current e2 issue without adding AI to the mix. You can just stockpile the remainder of your script for a rainy day.

thanks for your excellent advice. Seems others agree with you. I know a few times before I had 14 days between shots and after about 10 days, I would start feeling sluggish and no stamina in the gym. Plus I would get very hot and itchy at night. no fun!
