A little help here about my TRT. Stuck here between a rock and hard spot.
First off I want to say thanks for building a great site and thanks for all of the info on helping others…. Very informational. Now about me… I'm a 30yr old male with low T. I had some symptoms and got tested and got put on 1ML of test C every 14 days. My levels were 306 before any injections. I am getting a roller coaster ride about the 10 day mark. And after reading on here…. I found out that it's because of the 1/2 life of test c is 10 days. I called my prescribing DR to tell him whats going on...and he said he didn't want to make any changes until my next appointment in April(I went on test in Oct). Unfortunately I'm in the process of trying to get this fixed. I feel 1ml may be the right dose, its just I need it 1x a week. I've called around to anti-aging drs(per advice on here and reading up on other threads) and being insurance won't cover it…I'm looking at $1,500 for the startup fee, and then once I pay the fee…there is no guarantee that the dr will agree to my once a week request. I've went to 2 GP's trying to get my dose changed and one said I need to follow up with my endo(prescribing dr I already called), and then the other said he wants me to bring in my current bottle and prove to him that I've been doing my prescribed dose, every 14 days, and if so he said I should have 1/2 a bottle left, and if I can prove it right... he will give it to me(1ml wk). Honestly…. he was an asshole about it…. and truth be told.. I have a 1/8 of a bottle left because I've been doing it 1x a week to stop this roller coaster. This whole ride has been a disappointment, and I am now caught between a rock and hard spot. Almost if I'm dammed if I do, and Dammed if I don't. I've lost a ton of $ trying to get this fixed and its a shame….a shame that I'm legit'ly low and seems no dr wants to help……..until april…..and thats with the same dr that don't know the 1/2 life of this medicine, so it don't make me have but so much confidence in his advice.
Just a little background on me….its been one hell of a ride. I've been suffering from low T FOR YEARS (no morning wood, erections not as strong, depressed, no motivation, anxiety, and HUGE problem with 95% of my fat storing to my belly area). Worst part is, my GP after going to him each individual time for each problem listed above, its antidepressant for loss of motivation, the blue pill for erections, xanax for anxiety, and the gym(which I had no problem with). AND NEVER ONCE did he ever think to check me for low T. I had to come to him and say "hey, I have ALL the symptoms, have you ever checked me for this?". Of course the answer was "no, your 30 years old"….but of course he checked me NUMEROUS (10+ times/blood work), in a span of 3 years for everything else under the sun(diabetes, thyroid, ect). And after my levels came back low…I confronted him and asked why he never checked me for any of this after all of my symptoms, and his answer was "I'm going to refer you out to an endo about this". And here I am….once again….left in the cold. I feel closer after years of this battle but still so far away. Is what it is I guess…..

Your story is something that we see quite a bit around here. Trust me when I say that many of us understand how you're feeling right now. The good news is that it's fixable.
My advice if you're going to go the anti-aging doctor route would be to go with the site sponsor, LowTestosterone.com. They have a banner on the right side of the page.
It's much more affordable than the place that quoted you $1500 for a consult...which is insane. I'm a client of theirs and I've been extremely happy with them.

Also if anyone is wondering…. with the levels of my blood, its said my pituitary gland isn't working properly. Dr is assuming its from previous hard hits to my head. I've been in a couple really bad car accidents, and I played football for years, and being a knuckle head getting in scuffles over females when I was younger.. haha. I did have a CAT scan to make sure it wasn't a tumor.

I agree, call low t. Explain to them what your endo has you on, they'll get you straightened out. It's affordable, probably not as cheap as insurance BUT their doctors know their stuff.

This may not be as bad as you think. Most likely, you don't need 200mg/wk which is what you're doing now. If you switch to .5ml/wk, you'll be getting 100mg/wk which is a common starting dose and still be staying within your Endos total prescribed dose just splitting it up. Your biggest problem now is that you took it on yourself to change you're dose and are almost out of test. If you want to stick with insurance and you're Endo, try calling his office. Tell them you think you've been doing your shots right, but your worried because you don't think it looks like you'll have enough test left to get through til your next appointment. Play dumb, ask for clarification on how to measure your dose, and hopefully you'll be able to get them to issue a refill script to get you through. Once you have that, stick with 100mg/wk until your next blood work in April.

Yeah ive read other threads on here about doing .5 every week. Problem is.... Ive also read on here that if you re-pin with a used needle that you are playing with fire with getting an infection. Now that being said..... I was at my local tractor supply and the have needles for "live stock". Im not sure if that would be the same.... Or what. I haven't dug around too much to find a good spot to find them because the dr prescribed me those too. Is this something that will be hard for me to dig up, or legit for me to do? God I wish I could PM already haha.

Sounds like OP should have stuck with the first Doc as it seems he would have come around with weekly injections eventually. Many Docs are uninformed on TRT, but people on here have educated their Docs over time and build good relationships with them. If there's a lesson here, it's that one should never play Doctor themselves. If you had not increased the dose yourself, that second GP would have been on-board.
Believe it or not, most Docs "do" know more than us & are not automatically as*holes. They're professionals with a high degree of training and have a lot to lose if something goes wrong due to a non-compliant patient. We all should keep this in-mind...

I agree…I should have done more HW. Also please let me explain why I said he was an ass*hole as I didn't elaborate in my org post. We got talking about fitness, and me and my wife trying to better our lives, and I made the comment to him that my wife went from a 25% BF to a 18% BF and she has been doing really well with her diet, as I said that, he told me its probably because she found a boyfriend on the side(completely un-professional). I'm the furtherest thing from a jerk so I laughed it off and rolled with the punches. Second he brought up that I should buy his $350 weight loss program, which consisted his own regime of phentermine. I told him I'm at 1800 daily cals now, and he interrupted me to say I should be at 1200 to loose weight(I'm 235lbs 5'9) and I would be really doing something at less then 1,000cals daily. Oh and then he told me before I qualify to do his weight loss program…. I had to take a personal drug test for his own satisfaction. He said he wanted to make sure I wasn't smoking pot or using cocaine.
Thats why I stated he was an assH8le(which was all a opinion of my own). I know your thinking "no way" but I have no skin in this to try to convince you any different. I left out of that office with less brain cells then when I walked in. This doc was also a hole in the wall, one doc shop. Did I mention I told him I hit the gym/weights/little cardio HARD 6 days a week before he told me I need to be at 1200 cals..?… Yeah… I figured I wasn't in the best care there even if he give me the script, and even if I did bring in 1/2 a bottle to prove his theory right. The guy had a screw loose for sure…. I'm not saying I'm smarter then him….but damn.
Disclaimer: He may be right about wife and side piece hahahaha You never know with females lolLast edited by vbguy; 01-08-2015 at 06:35 PM.

Your best bet (IMO) is the site sponser and get dialed in properly. I'm have sleeping so maybe I missed it but what about HcG and also anastrozole? Any clue where your estrogen lies?, 1 ml per week is fairly hefty, surely enough to elevate E2 for the majority.
On a side note if alls u need to do is prove a half bottle of T for him to refill you, shoot it up with some canola oil, I'm sure he isn't gonna test it at the lab? If he tells you to inject some tell him you just did yesterday. Obviously this is dishonest but if that's all it will take till u can get dialed in with the site sponser?..............

if you can afford $199.00 per month, just give lowt .com a call and get going with them. they will get you dialed in on a complete trt protocol with both hcg and testosterone ...just be sure to follow their dosing directions and be patient since the "dialing in" process takes time.
