    accutane and dihydrotestosterone

i recently started a treatment of accutane for a very bad case of back acne. in my research, i came across this report indicating that accutane shuts down natural production of dihydrotestosterone.

Accutane blocks formation of dihydrotestosterone and does not affect other hormones. R Palatsi, A Ruokonen, A Oikarinen. Isotretinoin, tetracycline and circulating hormones in acne. Acta Dermato – Venereologica 77: 5 (SEP 1997):394-396.

i'm on TRT, so am not too concerned about this... should i be?

i'm going to post in parallel in spa section.

Accutane is taken as a cycle and is not permanent. I was on it for about 3 months. Probably should of been a little longer. It has many side effects and it is also hard on the liver. I took extra NAC while on it.

Expect dry skin, lips and sore joints. It really hurt my lifts but like I said - it's only temporary.
