restart started! Clomid & Nolva
thanks all who have given advice on my restart after coming off TRT 2 years ago and BW not returning to normal naturally. To update as started my restart PCT at the weekend.
Wk1 100mg clomid / 40mg nolva ED i.e (total 525mg / 280 mg pw)
Wk2 50mg clomid / 20 mg nolva ED i.e (total 350mg / 140 mg pw)
Wk3 50mg clomid / 20 mg nolva ED i.e (total 350mg / 140 mg pw)
Wk4 50mg clomid / 20 mg nolva ED i.e (total 350mg / 140 mg pw)
I started last night so will get bloods done in 2-3 weeks and see how we are getting on. Will follow the above protocol with the addition of an extra 2 weeks of Nolva only at 20mg ED.
I am taking at night before bed, in an attempt to lessen any sides (if existent) and taking everything in one hit and not spreading as the half lifes of both are pretty good.
Not sure what if anything to expect, but always holding onto hope.

Good luck. What were your bloods before the clomid restart?

Look forward to seeing your progress. I'm in the same boat will start same as kelkel suggested next week. It'll be good to see someone else on the same protocol and compare.

Did you run hcg during your trt or did you consider running it pre the clomid/nolva restart?

Hi, no I wasnt on HCG whilst on TRT as it just wasnt anything I knew about nor was told about.
I looked at advice on this board on HCG for my restart but the advice given in the forum was pretty much the protcol I have listed above.
what are you thoughts?

Well, 2+ years ago I had all of the customary symptoms so talked to GP had blood done. Test was around 220. Thyroid was shut down totally. Ended up talking to a prominent Dr in the Socal area who ran more bloodwork and did an 30 day HCG test and determined that I was secondary. After that he kept me on 150mg test cyp/wk with hcg. Test stayed around the 800 range on this dosage.
Now i am wondering if my thyroid function was the sole cause and attempting a restart. Hope that answers your question

yes ~I believe so. my back story is one of shame and stupidity, the usual.
but I had thyroid, cortisol, pituitary all checked. The varicoceles came after I was on TRT and having a routine check of the nads for size and volume etc. the sonographer noted the varicoceles and said you need to get them sorted! so I did. Came off TRT, off everything and went dry for about 18-24 months waiting for a restart that never came.
but I have recently conceived and know from about 6 weeks after the varicocele op that I was fertile again.

just to update, I am just under 3 weeks into my Clomid/Nolva protocol and had my BW carried out today. Testing for Test, LH, FSH and Estrodial - will hopefully get the results early next week, but dreading the results in case they show no change.
So far I have felt pretty good, feel happy and less depressed (but this could be totally psychosematic as I am actually trying to do something to help my condition hence I hope the BW shows positive change as opposed to null).
I was worried about the sides on clomid as hear it can cause depression and low moods but cant say I have experienced either as per above.
the only negative I cant really explain is a suppression of my libido and morning horn - will Nolva/Clomid affect this? Would this be expected?

Clomid tanks my libido big time.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would add to this:
So got my 17 day post starting my PCT BW tests back today and have the following to report. For data Iogging clarity my first BW pre PCT at 0830 and my recent at 0900, so both AM tests.
Test albumin (not had this checked before) 40 (ref range 35-50)
Total Test – 12.4 (range 8.4-28.7) – an improvement on pre PCT figure
Free Test – 0.175 (range of 0.167 – 0.588)
SHBG – 57.6 (range 17.3 – 65.8)
LH – 8.7 (range 1.5 – 9.3)
FSH – 9.1 (range 1.4 – 18.1)
Estordial – 141 (0-146)
(earlier test results:
T – 8.6 range (8-28 n/mol)
FSH – 5 range 1.6 – 11.0 IU/L
LH - 4 range 1.6 – 11.0 IU)
Overall I am happy with the results as it shows the LH and FSH have risen and increased my overall T by 1.25x. I am finishing the last 13 days of clomid/nolva and then a further 14 days nolva only so will be keen to retest in 2 months after then to see if levels have remained or dropped. What are peoples thoughts?
