Getting Labs & Deciding To Cycle

My doctor wanted a consult first before ordering my lab work (free 100$ for him)

He says he's really reluctant to give TRT to people who don't need it. He's going to order my labs first thing in the morning (when my test is at a maximum) and if they're low, he'll test them again before referring me to an endocrinologist.

Why is the doc making this decision? Why do I even need to speak with him to get lab work done?

Also, won't TRT decrease my natty levels of testosterone ? I hear people that do it have to stay on it permanently. If I'd rather preserve my natty levels, would a regular cycle + PCT be a better option with more gains?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

A clinician is not going to just prescribe testosterone without a medical need for it. If your levels are not low you do not have a need for it. Since they are the ones who are going to be ordering the test as well as interpreting them it is is their prerogative to do a thorough assessment in person before doing so. However, you can choose to have labs done on your own if you wish. Plenty of web sites online.

How old are you? height? weight? body fat? training experience? What are your goals?

Dude you're 26 and looking to get into TRT? Are you really low t or just wanting to get gear? If the latter is the case no TRT script is going to give you enough for a cycle. If you want to cycle that's one thing. Be sure you know what and how to do it and then do a proper pct. However, if you are "pudgy" I don't suggest you cycle until you get rid of most of your pug, IMHO. But you don't want TRT at your age, trust me. I would gladly love to be off if I was good natty.

Thanks, bra. The reason I ask is because I'm taking me d i cations that lower my test. I've been on m3 dications that lower my test since I was about 21. Worried about my fertility (eventually) and natural levels if I start TRT.

Well how do you feel? Do you have ED or some other symptoms? Are your other meds for life? You need the guidance of a physician for your particular circumstance. Trt is something you should avoid especially at your age. Maybe there are different meds for your condition but find an alternative . Good luck.

beta blockers (decrease testosterone ) and depakote (increases testosterone?)

for the longest time I was on risperidone (decreases testosterone) in addition to citalopram and dextroamphetamine. I got off all that crap and tried to just be natural for a while. The beta blockers + mood stabilizers have the least side effects and feel like the most "pure" form of me dications.

I've been weight lifting so long... I'm thinking about just doing a cycle? Is it healthier that way? That's essentially my question here.

Any way to post up your most current blood work?
And yes, if you don't need TRT you don't embark on TRT. A cycle would be your choice.

I had a friend who was put on beta blockers for high bp and messed up his sleeping patterns among other things. Finally took my advise and saw another Dr. He got him off the beta blocker and on an ace inhibitor. After a while everything improved from sleep cycle to exercise level and intensity.

    Thanks bra!

I just got the lab results from my doc and I'm 314 (easy to remember because pie is 3.14). The normal range is 270 to 1070. He said I didn't qualify and is putting me on a prescription for vitamin D.

Is it just because I'm so young (26) that he doesn't want to see me on TRT? I'm experiencing all the symptoms. The average level is literally more than double my level of testosterone at the moment.

If I cruise on TRT, and do some PCT, will my levels go back to where they were prior to TRT?

In one of your initial posts you stated you are worried about fertility down the road. If that is the case I would not be so adamant to jump on TRT. Why not give the Vitamin D a go and see what it does for you. You want get away with the least aggressive treatment option possible. At least give it a try you might be surprised.

My next step would be clomid therapy.

I agree with all of the other posts above me, BW needs to be done and posted for better direction. You stated you wanted a hot wife material the reason for trt. Sounds like cycle is what your want. TRT is mostly for people who need it not want it. For me I need it for moods, energy etc etc not just my looks. Wish u the best.
