Low T . oing back to the doctor for clomiphene. Hoping for advice

I have had low testosterone for many years now. I have tried several ways to increase my testosterone and nothing other than clomiphene seems to work.

My most recent testosterone results came back as:
    Testosterone Total
    June 18 2015: Testosterone Total: 232 ng/dL(Low) with a range of 348 ng/dL - 1197 ng/dL
    August 24 2014: Testosterone Total: 398 ng/dL
    June 13 2014: Testosterone Total: 157 ng/d

    Testosterone Free:
    June 2015, 6.31 ng/dL; Range: 5.00 ng/dL - 21.00 ng/dL

Clomiphene: 50 mg, 1/2 pill every other day.

The Low T goes back years and years before this, but I wanted to give you my last 3 scores.

I have been to men's clinics, my GP doctor and an endocrinologist.

I have used creams, patches, under arm, injections and under the skin pellets.

Nothing seems to really increase my testosterone to an acceptable level.

I heard a doctor on the radio talk about clomiphene and using some information I downloaded about it, I went to the endocrinologist who I talked into letting me try the clomiphene. It worked, but only temporarily.

This website is a complete over load with a great deal of information. I have read quite a bit here, but am not sure what all applies to me.

    My situation:
46 year old male, 200 pounds, 10 pounds overweight
Low energy, little exercise, trouble sleeping, irritable
I tried going back to the gym, but I am exhausted all the time, so between my work and energy level, I struggle to find the time.
My goal is just to feel normal again or at least have some energy.

To get my testosterone up, should I stick with the clomiphene, ask the doctor for something additional, find a different men’s clinic, go back to injections for testosterone, etc?
I guess I am just at a loss and not sure what to even ask my doctor for to help.

I have heard that if you take testosterone, then your body stops producing it (or produces less) so the clomiphene seems the way to go, but I am not sure if the clomiphene is enough. I stopped the clomiphene some time back, but think I shoul dhave done more cycles.

I would be grateful if someone would make a recommendation or point me in the right direction.

    Thank you very much.

Any clue what caused your low T initially? Or simply age related?
Clomid does not work well for everyone and sometimes the benefits are just not there.
When you were on injections what was your protocol?

It's hard to give a good opinion looking only at testosterone levels . I'd suggest full BW like in the Finding A Doc Sticky thread. That's the best way to get a clue which direction to investigate. Many things can cause fatigue / lethargy such as hypothyroidism, anemia (iron issues) and other blood related disorders as well as low T itself.

Thanks for the response. The mens clinic I went to, did full blood work. The other doctors tested very few things.

I am not sure what is causing my Low T.

This site is a great resource and I am interested in the lowt.com site and may just try it.

    Thank you

I am really surprised injections did not raise your T levels significantly. How much were you prescribed/given per week? And, how long were you on this protocol?

I was going to ask. Injections are by far superior, but the wrong dose or poorly planned scheduling can do more harm than good.
