How much ACNE do you get from TRT?
I'm super prone to acne-- always have been. I take exceptional care of my skin and have very little right now, but I'm afraid that if I went on TRT, my acne would be horrendous again. What has your experience been with acne and TRT? Please mention if you are prone to acne or not in your response (and maybe your TRT dosage too). Thank you guys so much

I wasn't prone to acne at all. I ended up getting some mild shoulder and back acne. Hanging out in the sun cleared most of it up. I'll say this though, my free test had been through the roof and that was the underlying cause in my acne issue. Something to keep an eye on when you get blood work.

TRT has improved my skin quite a bit.
I've always been a little bit acne prone. Had it pretty bad in my early 20's but it eventually calmed down as I aged. To be honest, I credit Proactiv for much of that improvement. That stuff worked really well for me. I could never really get it to completely go away though.
Once I got dialed in on the right protocol my complexion became noticeably better. I still get the occasional zit, but it's nothing beyond what's normal for most adults.

60mg of testosterone cypionate and 350IU of hCG every 4 days.
As is often the case, it took a little bit of trial and error for my doctor and I to land on this protocol.

TRT for 2.5 years now and no trouble with acne ever. I had plenty as a teen, too. I believe that it's elevated E2 that causes acne for some. Always keep it in the optimal range.

At my TRT dose (150mg T-Cyp/week) and 500IU HCG 2xper week, I don't get any acne. An occasional pimple here and there, but that was even the case pre-TRT. I did start getting some upper back & shoulder acne when I introduced DHEA to my supplement protocol (20mg/day). It really took off all over my shoulders (front and back) and chest, when I started taking T-cyp beyond TRT levels (300mg/week). I was able to clear it up and keep it in check with OTC benzoyl peroxide 10% soap twice a day for clear up, and 1 x day for maintenance. Never got acne on the face. Just upper back, shoulders, and chest.

Never was prone to acne growing up and went acne free for the first year or so on TRT, then all of a sudden I started getting these huge zits (not trying to be nasty) on my back. Not sure if it was e2 related or what, but it has been greatly reduced over the past few months.

I am prone to acne, due to being 50% Italian, naturally greasy and oily skin. I get a lot of acne on my back from TRT, it really sucks, I am in MN so it is impossible to get the sun for at least 6 months of the year.

Acne seems to be genetic more than anything, just like hair loss. I have always been very acne prone and trt definitely brought it back pretty bad. Not really on face, but back and shoulders. That said, the benefits of trt outweigh the cons even with acne..... It was worse the first year of trt, and has gradually gone down since then as my body adjusts thankfully. My E2 has always ran low, so its not an E2 issue. I am on 60mg twice weekly btw.

I only have breakouts when I eat wheat and dairy. I gave both up and skin has stayed clear.

About 6 months into trt i was getting big welts on my back that where to deep to ever pop, i started useing pantothenic acid pills 5 days a week per austintines, and it all but cleared a tiny zit or two every few weeks. My skin also allerginic i can get welts any where on the body so its very possible i was getting tiny zits on the backside that turned to welt sizes.
Ive been on trt for 18 months now and the welts are under control.

I'm about two months in and I definitely get some acne. It's moderate though, it's a welcome change to be honest. I'll take the acne over feeling like garbage.

I'm in the same boat as bax and sox...I had acne as a teen, but it eventually cleared. Since trt started a year ago and my dose has increased, I've gotten backacne pretty badly and they seem to be more larger, super painful cystic type of pimples. I'm in the sun a lot, which helps, but it's still there. Benefits far outweigh the pimples tho!!

Ive gotten acne on my upper back and a little on my chest since I started TRT 2 years ago. It doesn't form a white head so I can't pop it. I'm on 100mg a week.
