Opinions on my lab test?
I recently had my own labs done and these were the results.
Based on my research, my test is extremely low for being 18.
I went to the doc and was told that my levels are normal and that the low T3 means nothing.
I find that really hard to believe that 198 ng/dl is normal for an 18 year old. Thoughts?

Thanks for the response. He seems to be getting caught up in the reference intervals. So he's saying it's normal. He is also saying that I'm fine because I have hair in my face and legs.
He gave me a speech about that not everyone can look like Arnold, idk why though, he's must be thinking I only want it for recreation.
Any tips on finding a good one?

just look around your town you should find someone with some sense but TRT should be last resort you need to find out why you have low levels and try to fix it first because TRT for the rest of your life isn't fun

I agree with the above.

You really want to be careful here Alias, 18 is young to be messing with your hormones. I do agree though 198 is not normal.

it may just be you were born that way yes, but you have to know for sure before you start TRT

Step 1 is your thyroid. Educate yourself at Stop the Thyroid Madnessâ„¢ - Hypothyroidism and thyroid mistreatment. Hypothyroidism (even sub-clinical) can and will suppress your testosterone levels .
Your current doc's analysis that your ok due to having hair on your face and legs? WTF. Is this the 1800's?
Find a new doc who gives a shit about finding the root cause of your issue. Do not band aid it with TRT at your age. That would be horrible.
Get more thorough BW.

Ok, the doc finally agreed that my test was low after he took a blood test at around 5:00pm. I think it measures 48.

They're all like that. I have fight and argue for damn blood tests and go around to different medical centres like the junkies do. My endo doesn't know shit and told me she knows nothing about it so she can't help me. The TRT clinics just want to sign you up and don't have doctors who prescribe AIs and HCG - not that I've found yet anyway. But basically the entire medical community has its collective head up its ass with this and lots of other shit. The vast majority of people - including doctors - don't have a capacity for critical thinking so they just soak up and regurgitate the bullshit they rote learned at med school on daddy's dime. **** em all. Brew your own test.

I understand. But remember natural test can fluctuate a lot from day to day and for many reasons. At your age, I'd get retested several times and certainly not do anything to try to hinder the results. Wouldn't it be a good thing if your natural production kicked back up and turned out not to be a problem after all? If it doesn't, make sure you have a doc that will look for the source. I'm not saying its unheard of, but trt at your age should be the last resort. Be patient, and good luck.

If you've used steroids previously, it can take quite a while for things to get a chance to level out - and trying to get your blood results to be low to get the doctor to put you on test is a mistake - the rest of your life is a very long time to manage TRT and the various difficulties that can arise if you don't absolutely have to.
A better bet would trying to restart your production and trying to heal and giving your hormones and brain some time to recover and adjust. Deciding to go on TRT instead of trying to sort this out is a forever-decision, which perhaps looks attractive to an 18 year old, but have a read of the difficulties you can read about in this forum, and ask whether people here whether would rather be on TRT or have a good natural production of testosterone on their own, and see which they would choose.

Maybe you should concentrating on getting your health sorted, and not trying to manipulate blood tests in order to get a physician to give you TRT (which, as you have been told, there is no coming off of - if you need TRT why would you ever be planning to come off it? HCG is not going to allow you to come off it).
And why would you not be at all interested in why your testosterone is low at 18? That's bizarre. Maybe there is an underlying reason that can be addressed - I can't understand why you would seem to completely uninterested in that and just dying to get someone to prescribe you some TRT. Unless you already have some idea why it's low.

Absolutely not correct and you should listen to Angel. It would be almost unheard of for an 18 yr old to have idiopathic hypogonadism. There is a cause for it which could be anything from your thyroid (as previously stated,) pathologies, testicular or head trauma and more. Your doc simply may not be good at hormones. Get a copy of your blood work and post it up here.
And manipulating levels is as ridiculous an idea as there can be. Would you not want your doctor to tell you the truth? Or would you rather he lie to you to make you feel better?

Update: did not get the results for myself, but test is going to be prescribed. There were no other causes found.
Is it a good idea to take it at 18, or should I just deal with it for a few more years?

Alias26, against what others are telling you here, you seem to have your mind made up that you are going on Tes. Sometimes you just need to learn the hard way but you have been warned. After a few months or even a year when you finally realize that supplementing Tes is not as "sexy" as you thought it would be hopefully you will try to get to the root of the problem.
Understand, it will be MUCH more difficult once your on treatment but you seem to have your mind made up. The comment about trying to alter your test results did it for me, absolutely no reason to do this.
