Low amount of semen
I have been on HRT for over 4 years. For about the last couple months I have noticed that I produce about 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of semen that I used to. I follow the standard protocol for HCG of 250iu's for two days before my Wednesday subq injection (250 on Mon and 250 on Tue) so 500iu's a week. It doesn't come out with much force and not as much. I have done a few cycles of tren and deca , with deca being the most recent, ended December 30th. It seems to be related to the deca cycle. I have labs scheduled for when I return from vacation.
Two questions
1. Is there any test I should request other than FSH and LH?
2. Could I need more than HCG? Maybe change injection site etc..?
edit:
I just read that prolactin can also have a negative effect. I did take .25mcg of caber twice a week when on my deca cycle. I also understand that when you have a lot of sex you can't produce it fast enough so volume goes down. I generally take things in hand once or twice a day and have sex with my wife atleast 5-6 times a week. Maybe I should lay off for a few days and see what happens?Last edited by bethdoth; 02-04-2016 at 08:07 AM.

There's no need to test your LH or FSH while on TRT. They'll be pretty close to zero no matter how much hCG you're using.
It's likely that you just need more hCG. 500IU/week doesn't quite cut it for some guys, including me.
Changing injection sites won't have any effect on the efficacy of your hCG, but changing the dose will.

Dont really know why you guys say HCG helps semen production. Semen is produced in the prostate, semen carries the sperm. Sperm is what is produced in the testis and affected by HCG, although I believe to a greater extent by FSH analog.
Sperm is only a microscopic part of semen.
Still there might be some LH receptors in prostate, im here to learn. Personnaly HCG does nothing to my semen volume.
Only thing makes me really increase volume is clomid, but does not work on cycle (or Trt).
Lecithin does zero to me.

hi prolactin has been associated with decreased semen volume, the higher the prolactin the lower the semen volume, pull bloods on that, tell me where you at.
I found taking Zinc and in particular ZMA has a beneficial effect on semen volume also.

Darn Kelkel we already agreed age is just a number... I am fighting getting old. My volume was still pretty good prior to the Deca cycle. I will try some of these solutions and let you all know if anything works. Thanks for the input.

It is possible that you have primary hypogoandism and I have secondary???

Hey, we are all different, if for you works thats great, like I said im here to learn.
My point was that if semen volume increases with HCG, than prostate must have LH receptors. In the porn industry clomid is widely used for "cumshot improvement", thats a fact. What I would like to know is how clomid works to improve semen volume, is it by elevating LH or there is something else that works directly on prostate?
I have tertiary hypogonadism (the one which is steroid induced) lol

Ok back from vacation and just sent my doc an e-mail to order a bunch of labs. Prolactin, estrodial sensitive, total test, free test, Auto hemogram/plate/diff, psa, lipid profile, LH,FSH, TSH with T3 and t4. Anything else I should consider?
I have a have 12 caber pills that are about .25mcg (.5's cut in half) should I just take them to try and lower my Prolactin? I feel this may be my problem for a few reasons. Primarily mood vise low production. High Prolactin has an effect on dopamine which effects mood. I have not been myself lately, even on vacation I had an episode of roid rage that lasted from 5PM on a Tuesday till about noon the next day. I should not have been mad about what happened but i was off the wall mad. Also been feeling a bit of depression..not normal for me.

Clomid does nothing for me and lecithin does very little as well. I just try to enjoy the little things in life!

Problem seems to be getting worse. Volume has decreased even more. I don't think I can take Clomid because I already do exemestane (stane). Wouldn't this possibly crash my E2? I know this has to be related to the deca cycle I completed in December so I just wonder if time will fix the issue? I have posted a different thread with full lab results and everything looked fine.

Clomid will do nothing if you on trt.
Made some testing of my own and HCG works for me in improving volume and thrust in about a 30 min window post hcg application.
If it doesnt work for you maybe its better a medical evaluation of you prostate.

The only change I made about the time this started was to start taking some enzyme for digestion. I am going to stop them and see. I have increased my hcg and have not had sex since Tuesday. ... we shall see.

Thought I would follow up on this topic. I found out what the problem was! Prostatitus, been on anibotics almost a week and volume is coming back!

Good to know that you are feeling better. Are you?
Has it occurred to you that your prostatitis might be linked to the number of times you're ejaculating every week? Twenty times a week is a lot of stress on that little gland. Nothing is good in excess. And I agree with Kel about age. We can't be twenty forever.

One week on the antibiotics and I feel pretty good. I have notice the volume coming back a bit and not as thick.
What do you mean we can't stay twenty forever...damn you just burst my bubble. Really though I hear you. I often wonder how long I can continue to build cut build cut? I will be 55 in July some days I feel twenty some days I feel 55, but for now there are more twenty days than 55!
