Estradiol tanked
So I'm on TRT feeling great until my doc puts me on aromatase inhibitor. I only took a quarter of what he prescribed and kept a log. Felt good the entire time, went back for labs and I still managed to tank my level. Going on about week 5 without A/I and feeling somewhat better. Not sure what dosing schedule to prevent this again should he put me back on??? T level was over 1000 now he's cut my dose to bring down the T.

What did he prescribe for an AI and how much were you taking?
Since your Doctor is going to lower your Testosterone dose, you should wait 4 to 6 weeks after that and then have complete Blood Work done. Then when you have a new number for you Estradiol you can make a better informed decision on how much AI you might possibly need.
I have tanked my E2 level before too, it was <2.0 I was travelling for a month and didn't take an AI during that time. When I got back I figured instead of taking .25 of Arimidex twice a week (My Usual Dose) I would increase it to .40 2 x a week since I didn't take it for a month. Big mistake!

Obviously that was too much, but we need to know the dose he prescribed. Also, splitting those small 1 mg tables (standard tablet dosage) into anything less than 0.5 mg is a challenge, and the half life is around 3 days, so smaller dosing is tricky. I use the "Vodka Method". I dissolve 1 mg tablet into 1.5 mL vodka and dispense about 5 drops per day. Through numerous validation calculations and weight measurements, this amounts to about 0.5 mg anastrozole per week. This dose seems to be about right for me based on countless labs.
Also, looking at your labs, I suspect your SHBG is a bit high. This would explain why your Total T labs are high and your Free T labs are only mid-range. Not a lot you can do about it, but it explains why TT is high. SHBG protects the T from liver metabolism, so TT levels generally do up when SHBG go up, even if T dosing remains constant. The bottom line is that guys with high SHBG need to have higher TT in order to keep Free T in a respectable range. The only alternative is to go off the reservation to obtain certain AAS medications that will lower SHBG with very small doses (much less than bodybuilder doses). In the USA, I know of only one that is commercially available (Anavar ), but getting a doc to prescribe it for an off label use will not be easy.

proviron would be the drug of choice for lowering shbg. It would also allow you to lower your ai dosage

I can't speak personally to Proviron , but I have chatted with a lot of guys with positive experience. The least expensive medication is Winstrol , then Proviron, than Anavar . My understanding is that dosing of Proviron for SHBG reduction is higher (20-40 mg???) than with either Winstrol or Anavar. I have had great success with 10 mg Winstrol per day. I've also played with Anavar, where 30 mg/day was way too much and 20 mg per day was just a little too much. I'm guessing that for me the optimal dose would be between 10-15 mg. I've posted extensively on this topic (with labs) in another string
