HRT For Depression
Anyone here get into TRT or HRT with a history of depression?
I was on and still am (on and off ) on wellbutrin.
Never tried ssris because I have the type of depression where its a dopamine problem.
(No motivation)
Ive tried Ketamine infusion(expensive)
And it worked…for a while at least.
Now I am on TRT and have been since November.
Was off the top at first but ended up back to baseline.
I am now on bpc for joint and muscle injuries as well as Low dose deca (one week on deca now).
But lately Im just really exhausted of doing so many things .
Supplements, working out before work, this and that etc im just….tired.
Thought about selling all my gym equipment ,bike and car and just lay down for a few months.
I would like to throw in a DhT derivative(
Something like Primo) to see maybe if itll help but then theres the legal side of that.
Idk what Im even asking right now really .
I guess does anyone have experience like this where a certain protocol of meds helped you keep going and made you actually want to live life?
ThanksLast edited by wellshii; 03-23-2022 at 10:04 PM.

TRT helped a great deal with some depression I used to have as well as self confidence. Hard to read in between the lines of your post but make sure you’re eating enough of the right foods and getting enough sleep. You should feel great on test and deca . How much test and deca weekly are you taking?

At first I felt great. Clinic started me at 200 a week test only.
Went down to 180 a week on my own and kept down slightly.
Right now I am down to 120 a week and 50 mg deca a week(for joint pain).
But even before I went down my depression just crept up.
Being horny af with no tail to pound doesnt help either.(Complicated life situation)
Idk Im just tired.
I plan on doing my first blast in 15 years and see how I feel.Maybe itll keep me wanting to push .
I will say being on TRt working out is actually rewarding now .
Leaner,stronger etc

I don't have any experience to add, but I'm in the same boat as you right now. Things have been getting worse over the years between a sexless marriage, poor sleep, stressful job, pretty severe depression & anxiety, and other issues. Add in the pandemic and I've had zero motivation to work out or do anything really. After managing to put together some solid consistent time back in the gym I decided to hop on a SARM (RAD-140) & enclomiphene to tip my toes back into the water after a decade of not using gear to see if I can get build back some of the muscle I lost and get my test levels up a bit. I've also been thinking about getting on TRT after this little run. I've felt a really good boost in energy, improvements with my depression, and solid muscle & strength gains in the gym with just the SARM (RAD-140) and enclomiphene. Up about 8lbs in 4 weeks and much of which seems to be muscle. Libido is still not great though and motivation is starting to dip again so I'll probably look into a decent TRT clinic & regimen soon. I'll keep an eye out for your results here.

HrT can solve many issues. The first thing it solves is a baseline issue for bloodwork. Many symptoms of low T will be treated as anything but low T. Just a waste of time and money. Even if you remove a symptom and then go on HrT the symptom is no longer in the same range due to your body functioning at a new baseline. For me HrT solved:
Tunnel vision
Lack of motivation
Slow Thought
Sleeping Issues
Insulin Issues
and many more. I know there are many opinions but my real solution was an undecanote testosterone shot every 5 weeks. This was splitting of the full dose ove a 10 week period. Pure magical.

If you actually medically need HRT/TRT it will help with mild depression because mild depression is a symptom of low test levels. If you medically do not need HRT/TRT it will do nothing for your depression.

I actually went through meds prior to getting on TRT, never thought to check my hormone levels because I was 28 and always in the gym. I was on cymbalta and then lexapro and wellbutrin at the same time. Finally my doc recommended getting bloodwork and my test came back <100. Very low for my age. Hopped on TRT and within a month or two, felt 100x better.
