Bp meds valsartan hctz 6 years on trt

Long time no see. On 200mg weekly split 100mgx2
I’ll take 0.25 arimidex every once in a while. Gets my levels at 800ish total t.
I’ve been doc prescribed for 6 years. Last week my doc wanted to put me on valsartan hctz to control my blood pressure. 1 pill once daily 160-12.5, bp was 150/? Can’t remember
6 months ago they also wanted to start me on bp meds but I dismissed it because it wasn’t that high at 130/?
I did gain some weight after a surgery last year, diet hasn’t been great etc.
My main concern is I don’t feel good after starting this medication. I’ve never been on bp meds before, this one also has a diuretic. Going to stick it out for a few weeks see how it goes, got a bp monitor for home.
Anyone else have experience with this medication?

I don't have experience with that medicine, but cialis 5mg per day is good for a few points off your BP. Any vasodilator should offer this benefit. Depending on age, you might be able to get that 5mg C per day prescribed "for BPH"

    That's a good doc, man!

IDK if viagra is approved for daily use. Insurance covers my ciialis because of the whole "BPH" thing.

My BP meds are Atacand (candesartan), Coreg ( carvedilol), and Maxzide ( triamaterene/hctz).

It's not unusual for some people to try different BP meds within the same family. For instance your med is a diuretic and an ARB. My Atacand is an ARB. You may want to ask about switching to a different ARB if the Valsartan isn't treating you right.

As far as sexual beside effects, beta blockers are usually the biggest offender, but that isn't a hard and fast rule.

Talk to your doc if you don't feel better after a few more weeks. For me, there was a period of several weeks where I didn't feel as energetic/normal, but my body acclimated.

Keep an eye on your potassium levels as well.

There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

I’m also curious if taking more arimidex would lower my blood pressure. I experimented with doses and found that .5 twice a week would get me estradiol right at 25 up to 30 on an ultra sensitive test from quest. I didn't feel the best so I stopped and take .25 every once in a while. Maybe high estrogen contributed to high blood pressure? I feel better when it’s high I believe
