    New To The TRT World

Hey gang, new to all this so bear with me. Im 44 YOM and recently have been feeling blah! Ive been training for 20+ years and never took anything. Its getting harder to maintain and build muscle, lose weight, Im tired all the time and starting to lack motivation.I felt like something just wasnt right so I went and got my blood work done and low and behold my test level is 200. Obviously thats lower than the lowest end of the range. Now my question is this:

I found a clinic based out of Colorado who is pretty reputable and they can subscribe the test and anti est. 6 month supply for both is about 250 month and that includes follow ups with the doc. I have an appt scheduled next week with my pcp in hopes to get it prescribed to save me money. My question is should I even bother? I know most dr's dont know shit about TRT and what they do know is just to get you in the "range" even though that might not be optimal. Id like to get up closer to 1000 from 200 and have no clue how much cyp i would need to reach those levels. I would really like to know how long ive been this low but i know thats not possible.

    TIA for your input!!

That's a bit steep considering there are quite a few online clinics that are much cheaper than that. No way to know how much cyp it would take to get you to 1000. Some guys 100 a week does it, others it takes 200. Start lower (100-120) a week then get bloods. If you aren't feeling good and your levels aren't there, then bump it up. Good luck sir.

Good start is to read the "sticky's" at the top of the page. Very helpful.

Clinics are a good but expensive way to get started. They tend to start you on a more aggressive dose than a primary care doc would.

That said, 250 a month seems a bit steep for T and AI (which you might not even need). HCG is more important to me than an AI, so if that 250 a month included that, maybe some thyroid meds, and bloodwork, then it MIGHT be a better deal, depending on doses, etc.

Everybody is different, so trying to say what is going to get you to 1000 total T is a shot in the dark. Could be 100mg per week, could be 200. Are you going to include HCG? What sort of dosing scheme? What ester? You get the point, there are a lot of variables at play.

And we talk a lot about Total T, but really, Total T is almost just bragging rights. Free T is the one that is important, and the one we should optimize for.

Wherever you end up going, try to start at 100mg per week of Test C or E, do twice a week injections. I strongly recommend HCG at 500 to 750iu per week, in 2 to 3 250iu injections. Then you can adjust up if needed. Do not pre-emptively start an AI , they may end up making you feel worse if you tank your E.

Hang out on the forum, read, learn and make acquaintances. With regard to hormone optimization, you may find that there is more knowledge here than 99+% of the primary care docs, and probably 50% of the dedicated clinics.

well that price includes the trt, and the anti est and I believe 2 follow ups with the physician. I didnt plan on running HCG as im done having kids and cant have anymore anyway as im snipped. I beleive there is way more info in here than any pcp would have Im just trying to find a cheaper route to obtain the TRT. I can def afford the 250 but i dont really want to spend that ya know? Doesn't look like my lab has a free test number just a test number of 201.

I'm not saying don't spend the dough, just that it is expensive, depending on what you get. You could always start with a clinic to sort of "legitimize" your dose, then switch to a PCP that will just carry that forward.

Some of us, maybe most of us here, at least augment our prescribed TRT with UGL / non US pharma products. That's the part where you read, particularly in the Labs discussion sub forum, for more info if you decide to go that route.

You will ABSOLUTELY want to be tracking your free testosterone . Order it separately if you have to, ulta lab tests or private md labs are good locations. Always look for discount codes, BTW, where ever you order from.
