    Pulled off of TRT

54 Years Old. On TRT for 12 years at 150MG per week split into two doses Monday/Friday. Hematocrit, RBC & Hemoglobin have always been high so I donate blood at Red Cross every 60 days.
My endo retired and in came a new doctor. The first time he saw my blood work he said No, we are not putting up with this, got to get the Hematocrit, RBC & Hemoglobin down.
He took me off Test completely. That was exactly one month ago. My Test levels went down from 669 to 24 but not much changed with the Hematocrit, RBC & Hemoglobin. I donated blood 3 days before lab work. Now doctor says he's keeping me off for another month and gave lab orders for blood removal at hospital then test. Doc states he wants to get Hemoglobin below 50 then add Test back at lower dose. Does this sound like sound advice? Thanks for any input. See labs attached:

    On Test:
    RED BLOOD CELL COUNT 6.77 H 4.20-5.80 Million/uL
    HEMOGLOBIN 20.9 H 13.2-17.1 g/dL
    HEMATOCRIT 60.7 H

    One month off Test:
    RED BLOOD CELL COUNT 6.40 H 4.20-5.80 Million/uL
    HEMOGLOBIN 19.6 H 13.2-17.1 g/dL
    HEMATOCRIT 56.7 H 38.5-50.0 %

I agree your HCT, HGB, and RBC are high, but I think he could cut your dose down instead of completely eliminating your testosterone and you having to feel like crap.

Stay well hydrated and see if you can squeeze in a double red donation at the donation center about a month after your therapeutic phlebotomy if they only take a pint.
Make sure to pull a complete iron panel (on your own) to see what your TIBC, ferritin, iron, and iron saturation levels look like.

Damn, thats a terrible cbc panel. 60 is insane. Damn brother hate to hear that. Id say give it awhile you have only been off a month but at a 24 total T level? Wow man, Id suggest maybe looking into enclomiphene? Something to get your natural test back. Keep us updated

Enclomiphene HAS come a long way in the past few years. Used to be, the only legit option we had was Tailor Made Compounding, but now it is catching on. Strut, Maximus Tribe, and a few other semi mainstream clinics are offering it. I don't think it will take the place of testosterone injections entirely, but for those men who just need a little increase, it's a good first choice. And definitely as a PCT drug, yeah, it's a no brainer.

But damn, man, when you hit that spike and start blasting, it is HARD to go back

Ridiculous to totally remove test. Just drop the dose down and set up a protocol to dump blood and monitor iron as mentioned above.
    Or, find another doctor.....

    Pulled off of TRT

I went through something close to this were my crit got to high snd lowering my trt dose didn’t budge it but once I pulled the trt and did a couple blood draws my crit dropped pretty fast. After my crit dropped I was able to successfully go back on trt. The process took a couple months and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be

Transdermal test in the short-term could be something run by the Anabolic Doc, Dr. Thomas O'Connor...his app is dirt cheap, write to his mailbag if interested and I feel you'll find his internal video library has a wealth of information on the subj. GL

I agree 100% with the DR. Those #s will kill you long term. It sucks but you gotta do what’s needed to get your health in order. I’d stay off untill my hematocrit is 50-52. Even that’s clinically out of range. In the meantime maybe try HCG 500iu 3x a week. It should help.

I know it suck’s but seriously think about if the risk is worth it. I wouldn’t say the BW didn’t change much, it’s a big step in the right direction. I few more donations and I think you’ll be in a good spot

Get a new Doctor, in my opinion it’s absolutely irresponsible and inconsiderate to take a man off test just like that, there our plenty of clinics out there that will help get your numbers right and keep you going, hope things work out my Brother
