Question Can I avoid insulin resistance while on GH???

Is it possible to avoid insulin resistance(or almost) with a good diet regimen?

    Does age play a factor?

I will be doing 2-3iu(5/2)6-9 months for connective tissue related issues.

If I were you I'd ask my Doc that question. Mine has not warned me about this, I suspect that it is because (like you, I think) I am at the low end of the dosage scale - more HRT than BB levels. I can't prove this specifically with your question, but in general there are a lot more potential sides with BB levels than with HRT levels. Most HRT dosages are designed to allow you to take them for life, compared to BB "cycles".

It is also true that it will make your cells uptake less glucose out of the bloodstream and make it somewhat less impressed with your endogenous insulin. That is why I tell folks to take a occasional look at your BG levels while using HGH and avoid simple sugars during the time that HGH will be actively interfering with glucose uptake.

The flip side to this is that the IGF-1 that is secreted by your liver and other cells as a result of HGH's action on them assist with insulin sensitivity. Also, over the course of several months this phenomenon will work itself out and sensitivity is pretty much back to normal.

The only situations where insulin resistance is a big issue is in those users that have no regard for watching their BG levels, no regard for their diet, and also those that have health issues (type II diabetes, etc.). For you, at your reasonable dosage and with attention to the details of your diet, I wouldn't suspect you will have any lasting issue with insulin resistance (barring any pre-existing health issues). Age is a minor factor, only in that as we age, our body's somewhat naturally become a little less impressed with insulin and a little less forgiving .... and a little slower in springing back.

Thanks for the information guys. Red, thanks once again for your valued input and knowledge as I really appreciate it. That is a great read and very informative for my situation.
