Some take it before bed because they are mimicking their bodies natural production of GH which is said to be 45min after falling asleep. Then it has night to work its wonders through out the body. I did it at night for a while and I slept like a champ. Almost too good.

Synthetic or natural growth hormone has a half life between 2.9-4.3hrs. It is best to shoot first thing in the morning, and if taking larger quantities, again in the afternoon. By taking it before bed, you are actually inhibiting your body's largest natural pulse. A morning administration will allow for what your body still is producing to occur in your sleep state.

I am glad this question came up as I feel many should know the answer to this. As Pheedno suggested, your main natural GH release happens when you're asleep, and the last thing you want to do is interupt that. So to avoid interupting your natural production we avoid having a shot before bed.
Having said this, I would say this applies only for the users who are still young as the younger you are the more chance there is of your body producing its own HGH while you're asleep.
However, if you are an older user (say 40+) then a shot before bed would be ok since the older we get the less GH our body produces, and therefore the less chance there is of our body producing HGH while we're asleep.
So in this case it really depends on how old you are. I guess drawing the line between "young & old" would be difficult especially since everyone reacts differently, but I'd say if you're over 40 years of age then having a shot before bed wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Without a study it's hard to say if HGH use totally shuts down your natural production. I have been researching HGH for quite a while and have been trying to find out if natural production can be totally eliminated due to HGH use. Not many studies have been conducted so it has been hard to find the answer. However, I will tell you what I think and and my reasons behind it.
As we all know HGH is a hormone (protein hormone) which is responcible for growth and the re-generation of cells. HGH plays a very important role in our body since it has the ability to re-produce cells, increase muscle mass and bone density, and the list goes on and on, but basically without HGH we would not last long. So to think that HGH production can be non existant is quite a scary thought. It would defenitely make you think twice about using HGH.
Quite a while ago I came across a study carried out on 24 individuals (I think it was 24). 12 males and 12 females. The study went on for 2 years. I can't remember what the study was about (probably height and/or well being related - the usual tests) and even though nothing was mentioned about natural production not being shut down, I do remember reading that all participants were tested up to 6 months after discontinuing use of HGH and it said all individuals were perfectly healthy. I guess that would mean their natural GH production was not effected?
But then again, the doses that these individuals were given were a lot less than what we take. So perhaps the test which was carried out on those individuals is totally irrelevant since the doses involved were much lower than the doses we take these days.
Well at least that gives you an idea anyway. But I do wonder how professional bodybuliders use extremly high doses for years on, and once they come off they still seem to function properly. I am sure many of them have health issues due to HGH and AAS use, but many of them live on for years once they've stopped taking HGH, and it would be hard to believe that you can live on for so many years without your body producing any HGH. My guess would be as good as yours, but I would say I don't believe it totally shuts your natural production, perhaps it may decrease the amount your body produces (maybe), but not totally eliminate your natural HGH production, that's hard to believe, but then again who knows.

Glad to see this thread because I did a google search a while back and I kept seeing these recommendations to take it at bedtime w/out any proper explaination as to why.
So props to GEAR for knowing his stuff.
