    Insulin before training

I couln't find post about this, maybe is din't search right?

My trainer and I talked about the use of insulin with experienced users. I've now only tried it PWO @ 10iu and that's going good.

Now he talked about some guys that take there insulin before the training, and take there dex/protein while going trough the training, then after take another shot of insulin.

It sounds somewhere dangerous to me to be exercising on insulin. But I want to know more about this, because while training the body is breaking down tissue and right then it could use some recovering.

Somebody here knows more about this?

Taking insulin before training is pointless. Insulin's does not have the ability to give an instant energy or strength boost therefore taking this drug before training would be a waste of time and would be dangerous practise. Insulin is there to shuttle nutrients into cells and therefore lead to greater recovery PWO.

I would like to know your trainers point in taking insulin before training? Like I said, it won't give you a strength or energy boost so what's the point?

Just stick to taking insulin immdietly PWO as that's when insulin is mostly beneficial and tell your trainer he is recomending a dangerous game.

Thanks for the reply, my trainer is a little bit oldschool. And here in Holland the knowledge about nutrition/drugs isn't that high as in the US, so I always research the info that other's tell me.

But he was pointing out, that because you break down muscle tissue while you are training, you could be able to start recovering it instantly, and doing that with insulin so it shuttle's the nutrition as fast as possible.

There are some people in the gym that use this method on his advice, yeah it's really dangerous, and now I know it's probably not very effective it's not an option for me anymore.

I will tell him anyway, only it's to bad that he's hardheaded, hearing his info is bad from an 21-years old

Good point, but I believe consuming some simple sugars (energy drink) without insulin during training will probably get the job done, plus you are taking a huge risk by taking insulin during training because if you experience severe hypoglycemia during your training session you could end up in some deep trouble, so I am not sure if its worth the risk.

Apart from going hypo while training, another reason why I don't recomend using insulin before training is because it would be really hard to control your blood glucose while training, and if your blood glucose drops too low you would actually be wasting muscle cells and not gaining, so once again I wouldn't take the risk.

Your trainers idea isn't bad, but I wouldn't go ahead with it because the risks out weigh the benefits IMO.

definately agree, way too dangerous.insulin doesn't always spike at the exact same time,so takin it before workout is dangerous.im diabetic and i've tried just about everything with slin since i can.just stick with PWO.usually 10grams of carbs per 1iu of slin.humulin-R takes about 30min to start, humalog takes about 10min to start.
