Getting hypo with WMS + Slin

Okay, in the past have just used 100g carbs from dextrose with my slin (10iu). Recently started to use 60g carbs from WMS and 40g from dextrose. My next carbs are normally 45mins after at 50g from brown pasta.

I am getting low blood sugar levels with this protocol after 30 mins (as I am cooking my PWO meal). In the past when on the same carb levels of 100% dextrose in my shake I can make it to 1 hour easy.

    Any ideas why this is?

could be because you got two different carbs digesting at different rates,I would use 100g of wms,or even go for 110g at first to review.

I use 7.5g/iu of WMS with no problems with humalog. I use around the same with dextrose.

everyone is different bro and you'll feel different on different days as well. i take around 4-5g's and it usually holds me over but i do have days were i have to throw a little more dex in there between meals.

Hmm, I'll monitor it. Nobody seems to get more probs with WMS than dex alone do they?

I think goose hit the nail on the head here. You are using both simple and complex carbohydrates meaning they are digested at different times. Try and stick with simple carbs while insulin is active.

    Thanks, Gear.

Does it matter whether its 100% WMS or 100% dex?

IM not gear, but I will chime in.

It does not,but WMS is the best carb for slin,as its the fastest. So WMS is ideal.
