Doctor recommends HGH
First, I'd like to thank the hosts for having this forum out there. Although there are negative stereotypes regarding the use of these products, the information here eclipses all of the other forums and really helps those of us who are responsible patients.
My question is about the use of HGH and the costs related to it as well as alternatives.
First, about me. I am 38 years old, 6'3, 220 with about 16% body fat. I consider myself fit. I played sports in high school and college and, when my hormones are good, workout 5-6 days a week.
I was diagnosed with low testosterone , 123 with 250 being the low end of the scale used. I have been under doctor's care for about a year and am taking 1cc of Test Cyp weekly and .5mg of Anastrazol three times a week.
My IGF-I was at 228, with 250 being the low end of the scale used. My doc recommended HGH but I balked at the price, about $450 a month for 1.5IU daily. So, he prescribed me 50mgs of Oxymethelone every other day. This helped huge in my mood, afternoon energy, recovery time and stamina. But now, my doc is catching some heat about the Oxymethelone and won't prescribe it anymore. My testosterone levels are great but my IGF levels are below 200 now. My mood is crappy, my energy levels crash in the afternoon, my sleep isn't sound or restful and I am just not recovering well after my workouts.
Is HGH my only solution. I'd love the Oxymethelone again but after speaking with two other doctors, I feel lucky to have even gotten it prescribed in the first place.
So is HGH my only solution? Is 1.5IU going to help me and is $450 a month a good price for the generic version of HGH?
Thanks in advance for your time and helpful responses!

we cant discuss prices here but i can tell you that what you were quoted is about a quarter the price of hgh purchased at most pharmacies in the usa so consider yourself lucky. of course its alot cheaper on the black market but pharm. prices are outrages

That being said, is it worth the price for 1.5IUs daily or should I look elsewhere for the Oxymethelone, which is much cheaper and has proven results for me?
Also, if I purchase overseas, will my prescription be good if U.S. Customs seizes my package?Last edited by gettingbetter; 09-07-2008 at 05:42 PM. Reason: Grammar

That's not a bad price for pharma GH, also a far price to pay so you know your using something FDA approved. With generic it could be made in some dirty Chinese "lab" ( I use that term lightly) and may not even be all GH. Plus its potency wont be close to pharma so you will have to use more. Annnnnd no customs. If you can afford the $450, please go for it......for me.

I definetly want to stay with in the law. But no one has mentioned anything about the dosage. I have read about many people using 3,4,even 6IUs. Is 1.5 going to do anything for me?

Low prices obtained legally. What more could you want.
All the best.

Would the same amount be sufficient for say someone 10 years younger, that is looking for some fat loss and minimul to moderate muscle gain?

2-3iu's seems like such a little amount compared to what most people are seeing results with on here. By no means am I doubting your expertise just trying to get a general idea compared to others. I wouldnt be able to get pharm garde anyway. Any adive you or anyone has is greatly appreciated.

Well, got some good/bad news. Seems my IGF corrected itself and is now well into the 300s. So, doc says no GH for me.

I'm sorry but this does not sound right at all. The reference range for IGF-1 for you age is 109-284ng/ml (36-40 year old).
Your information is way off (or the doctor you have).
228 is actually a very nice figure on the upper end of your age group...
250 is not even the low end of the scale in a 15 year old (or any age group for that matter), which BTW has the highest ranges of all the age groups. A 15 year olds range is 237-996ng/ml

thats because ppl use the cheap china garbage. you cant even compare pharmaceutical hgh to that china crap. all those strange sides that ppl get from their china hgh are just not existent when u use real hgh...think about. and ppl have to use 5iu+ china garbage to get roughly similar effects of 2-3iu of pharm grade hgh.

I am holding both sets of blood work, the one I quoted in my original post and my most recent. The range I mentioned is what was used in my original tests. But on my recent test, the range used is 112-296ng/ml. I don't know why both tests have different ranges since they were both taken at the same lab.
Now that I am "normal", I guess I'll have to go another route.Last edited by gettingbetter; 09-23-2008 at 09:22 AM. Reason: Content
