Slin and Fats Timing
i was always under the impressions zero ( or as close to zero as possible) fats should be consumed 2.5 hours before and after slin jab (humalog)
however recent discussions on some other uk boards has lead me to believe otherwise
with many now believing that fat consumption in your PWO meal can contain fat without any risk of fat storage
the reason being that it will take more than 2.5 hours for the fat consumed PWO to be fully digested - by which point the insulin wouldve already left the body
consequesntly it is only pre workout fats that need to be monitored
i wondered what the general opinion was on this board regarding this matter?

You're correct. Fats certainly take a while to digest so I would stay away from consuming fats before your injection. I have always done this.

Fats and insulin don't mix, that defeats the whole purpose of using it, you want to increase the nutrients and BCAA's shuttle into the muscle not the lipids. I'd keep them off 2 hrs before up to 4 hrs after if u r using Humalog.
And I say 2 hrs before because Lipids are digested withing the range of 2-3 hrs. and then its safe or let me say more beneficial to use insulin.

this is an old way of using slin
by the way i wasnt advising using fats in the PWO dex/whey shake - i was refering to using fats in the solid meal after
many bodybuilders nowadays are using fats (mono and poly's) in their PPWO meals with no evidence of fat gain
the reason being the fat in this meal doesnt digest until the slin has already left the body

I just look at it this way....insulin shuttles whatever you put into your body into your muscles....so why would you want to transport fat faster.....My pwo shake consists of whey, creatine, maltodextrin, kool aid....

I got what you were saying, but it all depends on how much, and how often you use insulin
I take my insulin 3 times daily......in the morning, pwo, pwo......i avoid all fats around and after this time.....my meals are also protein/fats protein/carbs....never carbs/fat.....
I guess if you were just taking insuling once per day, then some fats right after your workout would not matter too much.....
my insulin usage, dictates my diet...

6am 5iu protein, carbs, and less than 4g fat
8am Protein/fats
1030am 10-15iu protein/cabs/creatine shake
1130 Protein/carbs
1200 Protein/carbs...less than 4g fats
230 Protein/fats
430 5iu Protein/carb shake
530 Protein/carbs
730 Protein/carbs less than 4g of fats
830 Protein/fats
930 fats
1130 protein
So i have fat throughout my day, i just have to time everything just right......and almost all of my fat comes from peanut butter, oatmeal, chicken....and that is pretty much it....
The slight fat i intake in my meal after injection, comes from oats and is less than 4g....
