Insulin and flaxseed oil/fish oil

I have read numerous times that flacseed oil should not be taken while on Insulin . While I completely understand why you would want to avoid in during the time which the Insulin is active what possible hard could come from taking it once the Insulin has worn off? Also by the same reasoning I feel that fish oil would also be okay. Any thoughts on this matter appreciated.

I stay away from all fats while insulin is active as anything excess will be stored. Once the insulin is no longer active you can take whatever you want.
