I am now 8 months post bicep repair surgery and just starting to gain some strength back. I started my GH run about 8 weeks post surgery. I can't really say that it has helped or not. Take it slow and do not push it. Time is what it needs the most. Was yours a distal or medial tear?

tore the distal tendon at the radius, and had sx 1 week ago. how long did it take you to feel "safe" using your arm? i wasn't even working out all i did was grab the bow of a boat at an awkward angle and "POP" .

SAme tear I had/have. Mine was pretty bad, complete tear. They drilled through the radius bone, threaded the remaining tendon through the hole and anchor it to the bone with three screws.

At my three month check up I told the Dr I had just started attempting push-ups. He flipped out and said it was way too early to put that much stress on the repair. At 6 months he released me for light lifting. Today at 8 months I am finally gaining some confidence in it. It sucks! Pushing exercises are good to go. I am probably back about 80%. Pulling exercises I am at about 40-50%.
