kidneys high in ck,physician does not want to help
i alwready have another post on here (physician puzzled by blood work.)anyway i got my blood work done 5 days ago again and received it and my ck readings remained the same as the last three and a half months when i was on my pct cycle for 8 weeks and went for blood work after my pct cycle.now that i have been on the anabolics etc for 8 weeks my ck is still at 1160.i called my physician to request me a kidney doctor and the receptionest was told by my doctor to tell me to get off the stuff, the hgh, humalog and anabolics.my physician has no clue why its high,i dont either and tells me to stop everything.back in 2007 my ck was at around 400.i have been taking blood work every 2-3 months for many years now and i dont know why between 2007 - 2009 he left out blood work for ck.anyway its been 2 years now since i got my ck work done again.anyways i told the nurse on the phone and my doctor knows that i have cleaned out my system for 2 months at least 7 weeks ago before i started my anabolics again and told her what difference will that make my ck was high then and it is still the same now even though i am back on it,i asked her if its possible to speak to my doctor on the phone now or later on when isnt so busy and she said i dont think that is possible.my physician has always been helpfull i dont know what got into him all of a sudden.i think i shoud just seek another physician, any advice from anybody and has anyone ever had ck problems in kidneys and how did that go.

Just go to a new doctor, no point in dealing with a heartless prick. He is probably tired of telling you to stop taking drugs and you do it anyway.

We have a place up here in our area called the Northwest Kidney Center. See if you can find something like this in your area. http://www.nwkidney.org/

You should definatly go to another doctor to try and get a referal to a Nephrologist. I have kidney failure, and trust me you don't want to spend the rest of your life on dialysis.
Take care man, and keep us updated.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there.
You guys ever think that these guys / woman are just lame exhausted of having to deal with everyones problems? They're sworn to protect human lives, and everyday they have to treat people for mostly self-inflicted injuries / problems. I know that's their job / what they're paid for... but I know i'd drive me up the wall pretty quick... how many times can you realistically give the EXACT same advice, to the EXACT same person, without eventually snapping..
He's probably just fed up with having to check your freaking blood-tests every 3 months, and seeing that everything is highly evaluated and inconsistent numbers. and then telling you how to solve the problem, IE getting off juice, but never to any avail...

Why would you stop training. Maybe change up your routine but being on cycle should NOT be the reason you train...

i posted some information on here by the name (rabdomyolysis) a rapid breakdown of lysis of skeletal muscle tissue.for those of you that want to read it,it mensions on there that you can get that even from being in an earthquake or training stressfully.from what i understand from reading it,i figured just like muscle science said, trainig is breaking down more muscle tissue, even light.why make it worse,i dont know if cardio would be ok.and i dont know if i should even take protein supplements like i always have.protein is also hard on your kidneys like my doctor said to stop everything.so i know i am going to lose a lot of size and strength and feel like shiet, but i need to solve this problem and hopefully it can be resolved and get back to training again later on.

Rhabdomyolysis can be caused by a number of things, but I've never heard of weight training having any effects whatsoever. Exercise-induced Rhabdo is associated with endurance athletes, such as marathon runners and cyclists. The only way you could get Rhabdo from being in an earthquake is if you were crushed or pinned by debris. Viruses, toxins, recreational drugs and even certain medications can cause Rhabdo. Do you take a statin for high cholesterol?
IMO, you should stop the gear and see another Dr. I'd agree that you should cut down the protein also. While protein does nothing to harm healthy kidneys, it can stress impaired kidneys. Did you have a BUN level done? I personally don't see a reason to stop lifting completely, but listen to your body- esp if you are experiencing (unusual) muscle soreness or weakness. Getting plenty of rest and fluids/electrolytes can help.
Best of luck.Last edited by Jacked RN; 06-21-2009 at 04:23 PM.

A nephrologist is a kidney specialist. Your doctor doesn't seem to willing to be helpful, maybe you should try another doctor to give you a referal. I also agree that you should stop anything your taking right now including protien so you don't put any extra stress on your kidneys. Don't worry about losing size and strength, you can always gain that back, but once your kidney function is gone it's gone. You can't put a price on your health. Take care Hulk.

Looks like you are getting some good advice.
Make sure you stop everything it will be there waiting on you when you get straightened out.
