WHEW! glad you are going to learn. First of all before you get booted off at 17 since you need to be 18, I am glad to hear that you are reading and I hope you plan to wait for a long time.
First thing is that if your growth plates have no fused which at 17 they have not, then you can really mess with your natural growth by growing in an odd way. Also it is recommended to wait until 30 years old before starting HGH since you could actually create a negative feedback loop. This means that your body gets used to the synthetic gh and then your own natural production starts to really slow down or even possibly shut off. So why mess with a good thing while you have it?
YES THE ANSWER IS YES HGH COULD HAVE A VERY NEGATIVE EFFECT ON YOU AS A TEENAGER! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM IT! You have not stopped growing yet!

You have plenty of natural IGF-1 in your system at your age. If you subject your body to high doses of IGF-1 your could get acromegaly.
