Week 4 on HGH: My experience with welts vs what I read online
Week 1: 1.5IU eod
Week 2: 1.5IU 5/2
Week 3: 2.5IU 5/2
Week 4: 3.5IU 5/2
I have two doses left in week 4, I plan to be at 4.5IU 5/2 week 5, and 5.0IU 5/2 weeks 6 - 36.
I'm a "noobie" but I've been doing a bit of research. Unfortunately, most of the info I can find that relates to my specific situation comes from forum anecdotes. A wise man once said that the plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
Here are some hypothesis I've come up with based on my "forum research".
-I believe that part of the reason people get pain at the injection site early on is because many might be new at sticking themselves. Recently I mirrored a 1.75IU dose on either side of my navel. The first time I stuck myself the pin kinda slipped and rotated in my hand after it was in my skin. That side is more sore. Also, these really thin pins that people like me who are new to injecting might be inclined to get seem to get dull real quick. At lower doses you may use the same pin 5 times or more, not counting reconstituting.
-The inflammatory response seems to flare up and go away. I know the normal answer for "welts" is "192aa", but I don't really believe it. Every now and then someone chimes in that they got welts from a brand that can only be 191aa, and how many men on generics do you think there are for every one on name-brand on these forums? Based on that it seems that some men just seem to welt up, and it seems to go away. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't see many posts of people still welting in weeks 12-36.
-Speaking of noobs who buy tiny pins: While I get pain at any injection site at this point, it feels more like muscular pain when I go into my hip or calf, and more like epidural pain when I go into my abdomen. Could it be that I'm going to low in the former cases while I'm not going deep enough in the latter case? I pinched the skin on my hip this week for my first 3.5IU dose and I got no pain or inflammation. Maybe I got the distance right? I'm using 29ga 0.5in pins.
Anyway, these are just some thoughts I have at this point. I'm thinking of turning this into a log for posterity. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Your only supposed to use a pin once or you will contaminate your HGH.

when u use the pin more than once it's twice as hard to pinch the skin as it gets dull really fast even if u insert it into the rubber of a vial u should change it and inj with a new pin.
The nordi pen is amazing u don't even feel it.

George, I disagree with the findings of your research. Quarter sized raised skin that itches like a mosquito bite for 24-48 hours does not come from needle "slippage".

Didn't mean to imply that was the main or only reason. I just noticed that the pain at the injection site afterwards was worse on the needle-slippage side.
And actually, one of my injection sites last week had raised skin about the diameter of an drink coaster. They seem to have peaked with that one, then became "quarter sized". So far I've had no inflammation from my last two injections. Either I'm tolerating them better or they're just taking longer to show up. When and if they do show up they'll last about 5 or 6 days.
They itching has always been minimal for me, though I'm not assuming my experience is typical.
Anyway, these are just some hypothesis I came up with, I'm not married to them, and I'm happy to admit I could be wrong on some or all of that.
You guys make sense. I'll try it and let you know if there's a difference.Last edited by Furious.George; 10-21-2011 at 12:05 AM.

try injecting im instead of sub-q. Supposedly that helps with the welts

Very dangerous to re-use a pin.

There is no way to contaminate the GH using the nordipen if you are using the supplied tips.

Correct. That was my bad. I thought that alcohol swabbing everything every time twice would make that OK. I confess I did not transfer my last dose this week into a new needle, either.
Starting Monday (next dose) I'm going to leave the reconstituted GH in the vial, and use a fresh needle to extract.
I'd love to use a real pen instead (armed with generics?), but I don't have 100 posts, so I can't ask about sources, and "fishing" is also against the rules, so I'm SOL.

So I was going into my shoulders, tris, and hips for a few weeks, and everything was good.
I went back into my abs this week out of curiosity, and no welts.
Also, the water I was retaining seems to have come off. I can touch my thumbs to the knuckles on my pinkies, which I couldn't do before. The GH has been properly stored, so I can only assume my body has adjusted.

My experience is one in every twenty people get red welts. The kefei's I get come with preservative so it can last out of the fridge for up to 30 days. The red welt is actually an allergy to the preservative. People who get the welts leave it out of the fridge for 3-7 days or until the welts stop and then back into the fridge.
