Time sensitive/expiration question

New member, but been on these boards roughly 6 years and have always been able to research and get the information on any questions without having to post. I have the Nutropin 10 pens and my question is after the pen is open how long is that individual pen good for. The information that came with the prescription says to discard after 28 days. My concern is I have already opened the pen and was not planning to start for a few weeks, so is the 28 days a precautionary or set in stone? Will I still be able to use it after that time and if so how much of the potency will be ruined?

Is it the type that's premixed and upon opening the solution is mixed with the powder?
If its already mixed then keep it in the fridge. Don't ever freeze it. I would say if it's mixed then 28 days would even be too much, I don't like to keep a mixed solution for longer than 5 days as the potency of the product seems to drop significantly after that. is it the 3ml pen?

Yes I don't have to mix anything. They are the 10mg pens = 30 I.U.

what do you mean you opened the pen? You removed the cap? You attached a pin?

Yes I attached the needle and primed the pen then shot .2mg just to get used to it.

I think since you'll be throwing 30iu's in the bin if you don't then the best advise as stated above is to start now.
