You might want to start out with humalin R first. Just take like 7 units then 30 minutes later eat like 100g of carbs. Buy several bags of dextrose from a natural grocers and keep 1 in your car, 1 in your gym bag, 1 at home in case of emergency. Buy a glucose monitor. I wouldn't get near humalog until you've got the concept and the timing down. Humalog can put you hypo in a matter of minutes.

Doing it before your workout can help with the pump but its most effective after your workout with proteins and high carbs.

You understand the risk right? you could become a diabetic or if you go hypo you could go into shock and die

THanks Gixxer. Start with Humulin R not Humalog

There is no way to know how each person reacts, better to eat more carbs than to be to low. Your body will take care of any extra carbs, but it cant take care of to much exogenous insulin . Plus if you're completely replacing your need for insulin then you're more likely to become a diabetic, better to eat more carbs than needed so that your body still has to produce its own insulin to take care of the rest.

    7iu per 100g is 14g of carbs per 1iu of insulin .

in this video he talks about his insulin use. He does not use humalog, he uses humalin N. Humalin R is shorter acting but is still quick enough to put a beginner hypo. Humalin N is longer acting but can be bough over the counter with out a Rx, and if there is a high amount of carbs in your system it will take action quicker. This is from my experience with it, ive been a diabetic for 6 years and have used several types of insulin. Humulin R in also a good option (maybe better for BB) but I am not sure if you can get that without an Rx. If the BB in the video uses humulin N then im sure it works just fine for BB
humalin R you can get with out a script. IMO humalin N is to long of acting. There is a chance of going hypo many hours later. IMO humalin r would be the "safest" route

Also beware there is a version of Humulin N that is u-500, instead of the typical u-100. So you'd be taking 5 times as much if you used that version.
