Harsh pains in my left lower arm when training.
Hi, i am getting pains in my left arm when training, have been getting them for about 2 months now, and have just tried to work through it as i dont really want to stop and lose any gains i have had.
It hurts most when i am curling. Straight bar OR dumbells.
It is always in my left arm, my outer forearm.
I can still lift with it sometimes, but it hurts like hell.
Its not my elbow, its below, all the way down the my wrist.
Any info on what this could be, and how to cure/prevent it, would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Have been lifting in consistently for about 2 years.
If that helps. Its not like a joined the gym last month.
Thanks

thanks for the replies. im 99.9% sure its tendonitis from reading. was absolutely killing my forearm today at the gym. think im gonna go docs im just hoping that because ive worked through the pain for like 2 months i havent done it any bad damage. have started putting ice on it 3 times a day. i asked somebody today at the gym, and they said you can go to the docs and they will give u an injection into your forarm and it stops the pain has anyone heard of this? he did seem a bit of a billy bullshitter to be honest. im starting to get pains in my right shoulder now too whilst doing shoulder press. Must be because ive been training alot harder the last few weeks and have been doing alot of heavy 3/4 rep sets. Any more advise would be greatly appreciated. Also, how long do you ice it for? thanks

As stated in Tendonosis vs Tendonitis, “First: Find what area of the movement is affected by pain.”
When it occurs in the forearm, it can be worked around with one simple criteria:
Don't squeeze anything, not even breasts (with that hand). It is the squeezing motion that recruits forearm muscle fibers. You can still lift and get a sound workout, but will necessarily be machine oriented.
