    Jacked in the throat

So I was playing basketball on Monday and the guy I was guarding went for a layup and when he came down his elbow hit me square in the adam's apple. It was a total freak play the guy didnt mean to do it but it has F_cked me up pretty good. I feel fine until I start to exercise then my throat closes up. I havent been able to do a thing since monday and its altered my voice as well.

Has anyone else had an injury similar to this and if so how long does it take to recover?

I played lacrosse my whole life both in high school and ncaa div 1 in college and I have been poke checked in the throat at least 5 times. I've never really experienced by throat closing up afterwards though. I've gotten a sort of constricted feeling due to swelling which is probably what happened to you. Give it a few days you'll be alright

yeah, i've had a similiar experience. i was in a swimming pool, and me being an idiot...i went under water and tried to beach myself on the side of the pool, like a killer whale at sea world. i fell short and hit with all my weight right on the adam's apple. i thought i was going to die.

    Science,

See a doctor as soon as possible. What you're describing should not be happening, and may not heal on it's own.
