    Bicep issues

2 months ago I strained my right bicep, I layed off of it thinking it would get better.
Now it's very painful when I workout, and uncomfortable when I'm not.
I simply cannot do staright bar curls, the pain is and the bottom edge of my bi and seems to travel upward when strained.
I can do seated curls with minor discomfort......Doc, any ideas?

You probably should get it checked out by a doctor ... I mean, any pain that lasts for that kind of duration has to be a structural one, right? Better be safe than sorry (further damage; long-term) and see a professional.

You're not helping it by working out. "working through the pain" is never a good idea. Gotta just let it heal. It sucks.

Ive got the same injury. I waited for six months. It didnt heal. I then got on GH at 3 IU a day for three months. My injury is much better now but it hasn't healed fully. Im now going to run a cycle of IGF-1 to heal it.

My suggestion to you is to get an MRI and check what the extent of the injury is. After that, assuming you haven't torn the tendon (and assuming it is TENDONOSIS), I'd run GH for six months. Those injuries don't heal easily. If you want to heal faster, try using IGF-1 for a month.

Those are your only alternatives. The doctors cannot fix it. Only you can. But I'd get a diagnosis first.

Oh and lastly, don't put any stress on the injured portion. I'd stop curls altogether until it heals. This may sound like an awful sacrifice but if you don't do it, it will never heal.

Thanks for your comments....GH is on the way, same as the IGF-1.
Do you use the IGF-1 injecting into the point of injury?

My IGF-1 hasn't arrived as yet but should in a few days. I will probably do a mix of IM into the bicep and SubQ - alternate days (given that injecting into the bicep every day is not feasible).

If you see any progress you should do a post on it. Lots of injured bros around here.

Btw, what brand of GH are you going to use? I am on Jino.

Yes I will post any results, I've got Jino's on the way. Good luck and thanks for your input.

I've been to my regular Dr.then he sent me to an orthopedist and he took x-rays of my knees and my bi......Told me nothing was wrong, let it rest.
I felt like I was 80 getting up out of chairs........Finally went to a Chiropractor, in fact just got home from her.

My Bi, after 3 sessions is almost cleared up.....I couldn't straight bar curl, now I can.

I started lifting again with my legs after 9 months off and 3 sessions with the Chiro, they still hurt but I believe I'm on the road to recovery.
Chiro and stretching has helped me.

She is doing what they call Active release therapy, she manipulates the muscle, tendon and then I stretch, don't know if it's for everyone but it's working for me.

damn. i have this too. Freakin right after i gained all my strenght and size back from 2 labrum repairs..and bam i get hit with this. Fvck.

mine i did on the shrug machine i think. The handles are too wide for a short person like me and i think that put extra strain on the biceps. it only really HURT hurt for like a day and a half. There was a slight redness in the crook of the elbow, pink really. Lasted a day. No black and blue though. it was 2 weeks ago. Havent lifted since. Now i get transient aches throughout the day here and there. goin to the doc for a shoulder followup next week, so ill inform him of this. Im not touchin a weight till then. shame i was makin such good progress too

I hear ya Bro, it sucks when you have to stop! I never believed in Chiropratic medicine.....stayed away for 47 years because I didn't understand it, I think it has come a long ways in the last decade.

lol i went to the doc and he said let it eal no pills nothing. So i tried to look up this ART but it is not very clear on how to do it. Is it something I could do on my own??? i figure if anything I will start lifting with it very light and try to just try a sort of physical theropy, at least it will get me around the gym again. If you could suggest anything you have picked up from the theropist though that might help I would love to just try anything

Well...it is hard to do on your own.....plus I don't know if I'm attaching to the right mucle when I do it on my own so I haven't been messing with it.
I think for me to suggest any method on my part would be just plain wrong, I would hate to further your injuries.

Look up Chiropractors and Active Release Technique's.

My doc says its not torn, or maybe just a little torn. He feels its tendinitis, but then i lloked that up and tendinitis is actually rare, and i think in anthony roberts book, he concurs, i think.
The doc said take another week off and start of light. I hardly feel anything now. I been on NPP anyway for awhile, so i dont know if that helped a little.
I asked him how common complete tears are, he said VERY common. Hes like "i have one one friday. And i did 4 this summer already". then i asked how succesful the surgey is, and hes like "Oh, 100%. I mean i hate to jinx myself...but.. I dont think iv ever had a retear"...so that made me feel a lil better, lol.
Most(complete distal bicep tendon ruptures) are not from lifters, but laborers.
