    Question Knee Surgery

So about a week ago I was wakebaording and landed a jump wrong, went to the doc next day, did mri, etc. Here is what I am facing....

    From MRI report:

    Complete tear of ACL
Bone contusions on lateral femoral condyle
Tiny impact fracture at top of lateral femoral condyle
Partial tear of popiltiues muscle (muscle behind my knee)
Tiny piece of bone missing at top of my lateral femoral condyle from impact

My question is....I went into this injury strong....so how long will i be able to do a little jogging....?????? my reconstructive surgery is in the begining of sept......any ideas from people who have torn their ACL's in the past? How long is rehab? Thanks!!!!

Sorry to hear that, but it's a good thing being in great shape always reduces the recovery times.
    Peace,

its going to be awhile after the surgery before you can jog outside, you will probably go to physical therapy and do low impact cardio and exercises to strengthen the knee, after this, you are good to go

    Hey bud,

I completely tore my ACL during a sparring session a few years back. The pain was almost nonexistent, my knee was loose for the first few days but after a couple weeks of slowly getting back into the gym I was able to get most of the stability back. I had reconstruction using cadaver tissue for faster recovery and I have to say, its one of the worst decisions I ever made. My knee feels looser now then it did before, cracks and pops during any athletic activity (running, jumping, squats, leg curls etc.) and just feels shaky. I also had one of the top rated orthopedic surgeons in the state do my surgery, who later told me I have naturally loose knee joints. But regardless, I still regret going through with the surgery. I know a lot of fighters and athletes who've torn their ACL's and continue to fight and train without surgery.

If you're like me, and a stubborn bastard, just remember to focus 100% on your recovery... that will make or break your recuperation. The therapy will hurt like nothing you've ever felt, so be prepared for it. Just walking to the bathroom to take a piss was excruciating to the point of not even being able to relax enough to piss when I finally got there.

    Good luck brotha
