    Torn Pec Help

I have torn my left pec twice within a four year period of time. The first one wasn't that bad, but a little over a year ago, I really messed it up. I was doing 295 on flat bench, and on my 9th rep half way locked out, all of a sudden it felt like I had worms running around under my skin in my insertion area. My entire arm from shoulder to elbow bruised over the next week. I iced and wore a sling for a week, hoping that I would be able to bounce back on my own. Needless to say, here I am now with a lumped up left pec and I can't even think about doing any flat pressing movements. I guess my question would be is there any kind of special movements that I can do to help reduce the lack of symetry that I have in my chest. And is it to late for me to have surgery to fix the problem? Any feedback is good guys, I just want to try to get it looking better. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks B

Sounds like you got the same thing going on, I know I have a major tear. The difference in shape of my right pec and left pec is really noticable. I know I should have surgery, but it's like a four to six month layoff from the gym. After my tear, I didn't even think about doing chest for over a month. I can still go heavy on Incline movements, but I can't do anything flat or declined, if I do, it fells like it starts to tear again.

i tore mine back in sept and didn't have surgery either, it took about 8wks with extremly high doses of deca for me to start doing any kind of press. i've been back training 100% now for about 3 months and i'm also getting deep tissue massage therapy done once evry 2nd wk and it's helping with the way it looks.

    same here.

but ur case sound more severe than mine. i never had any bruises or visual defects. everything looked normal. but now i have taken like 3 months off from lifting due to illness, allergies, etc. so hopefully when i get back to the gym the pec is all good
