    Got Lasered!!!!!

    Back, Shoulders, and Neck (OUCH)!

So, what can I expect (yes, I know everyone is different......)

My hair is dark and the laser was the kind that pulses cool air whilst it zaps you! It was hard to keep in my Zen place......

    Neck hurts while it's happening.....

I'm really pale in the winter (do tan easily though) and the hair is/ was dark and coarse. The lady used a Candela Gentle Lase @ 18mm and 12 joules.

    Hope that's enough info!

where are you getting your laser done @?

also, how big is your piece, how many sessions do you need for complete removal, how much downtime between sessions, and do they charge for different colors, or by the inch?

    thanks. ``

I go to a place here in CA that only does laser tattoo & hair removal. They charge by the square inch.

The # of required sessions varies. Some colors and inks are more stubborn than others. My tattoo is 6" x 6" and mostly black. I paid for 6 sessions up front ($1100) and go in about once every 2 months. It faded a lot after the first session, but only a little bit after the second and third. Also it hurts like a bitch. Much worse than getting a tattoo.

I got my neck done, and it is amazing! i've done 2 out of 4 sessions and I have zero hair regrowth. I still have a little bit of redness, but that should go away on its own.

Thanks. I am looking to have a sleeve and side piece lasered in the future. Will probably set me back thousands unless I can find a place that does discounts for large pieces or somin.

I got laser a few years ago, about 2. Worked decently. Noticeable difference, but just don't expect zero growth. 50% plus would be more realistic.

Lasers can be a bit pricey, but you'll save $$$ if you buy packages; and, the appointments get timed out to ensure maximum hair removal. Try to find a deal where they offer 50-75% OFF after the 5th or 6th treatment, just in case your hair keeps coming. I've been doing my whole upper body, and thinning out other areas. It's really no big deal, and I'm happy with the reduction. I was pretty scared before I started too, because I'm a natural sasquatch... but not anymore! Anyway, when I'm finished, I'll probably have spent close to $3000. It's still 1000X better than getting waxed, or trying to shave.
