Dermatologist Question...Please read...
I have a derm. appoinment. may 7th....i will be moving 2 hours away at the end of may...what i am going to try to do is talk the derm. into prescribing me accutane....i have tried almost every thing out there and nothing really helps....so i hope he will prescribe it to me...my question is should i tell him i will be moving and going to a different dermatologist? i don't want him to pull some shit like "i cannot prescribe you accutane, you will have to go to the derm. you will be close to when you move"...i am really anxious to get started on accutane, but i have heard you have to go back every month or so for blood work and a geberal check up??????..........what are the chances i will HAVE to stay with the original derm. who prescribes me the accutane? do you think it would be okay to go to a different derm. AFTER i have been prescribed accutane by the doctor currently close to me? it would be a real hassle to have to drive 2 hrs once a month to go see the original doctor?
or should i not say shit to the derm. about this and just move and start going to the derm. in my new town? help bro's!!! i don't want to get screwed out of getting my accutane....

thanks for the advice rickson.......but do you generally have to go to the same doc? i mean, it kinda makes since because he would be the one observing your progress, problems, etc......or will dermatologists just recommend you to someone else if you would not be able to see that particular one any longer?

cool..........also, i am concerned because i have been taking clen /eca 2 weeks on/2weeks off since april 1st....monday was my week to start clen back, but i am scared to because i don't want it to mess up my chances of getting the accutane rx'ed to me (i.e. high BP, liver values, etc).....will the clen/eca effect this? also, i haven't been on any AS since late december 2002, so i should be cool in that dept., although the freaking acne has stuck with me!!!

ur supposed to get ur blood drawn b4 u get ur script, and i think they base "normal" blood pressure levels on ur first test. and im pretty sure that ur doc can just fax over ur info to ur new derm. so i dont think u have nething to worrry about

my brother had bloodwork done every 2 weeks or so while on the drug...instead of prescribing you the drug he may make a recommendation in you file based on your experience.
i would tell him just so he doesn't assume that he will be monitoring you throughout treatment and convinces you to drive 2 hours to get it done.
always better to be up front as you can find another derm who will prescribe you accutane without problems elsewhere if he won't.

I took it about 3 years ago and I only took one blood test and it was near the end.
