WTF.........I think I ruptured my ear drum straining on a lift!
K so we played tennis for cardio(and to get some sun) before going to the gym to lift. It was chest and bicep day. It was toward the end of our work out and I was doing reps on the bicep curl machine and she was spotting me on those last few reps and I'm straining through a great burn. Then go to stand up and thought at first I was just light headed because my equilibrium was of, wrong I hear this ringing in my left ear? WTF....on the ride home felt slightly nausea and my ear was ringing, then get home and notice every time she or I talk it sounds like a faint beeping sound and I hear this constant water rushing sound. So I put an ear plug in to reduce the noise and when I take it out I'm almost completely deaf in my left ear.
I made an appointment with an ENT, I'm pissed, I'm at the gym to feel better and better myself not ****ing cripple myself. Has anyone ever done this or heard of someone this has happened to?

So after a recommendation from a friend I went to the ER last night. After we waited for 4 hrs i gtr pissed and we left, I'll just go to the appointment on wed, at least it will be cheaper then being seen at the ER. I sure hope they can fix my ear and I'm not dead for life.

Unfortunately i just came from the ENT doctor and it seems I have ruptured some cochlea membrane and this has caused a permanent 50% loss of hearing in my left ear! WTF I'm meeting with the ENT surgeon tomorrow to discuss surgery options and I may be able to retrieve some of my hearing with surgery.

I exhale upon extension of any exercise. I know it's totally bizarre.

I hope its reversible. I know its hard not to panic, but don't panic yet, lets see what your doc says.

ENT said I damaged my cochlea membrane Its not reversible, 15-25% chance can do "some repair" with surgery if its close to the ear drum if not, nothing.
Thia loud internal water rushing sound is driving me nuts!!!! and I got dizzy and sick and could finish my workout today....I'm not a happy camper.

this really sucks bro,I don't blame you a bit. what options do you have? implants? I hear implants can restore your hearing up to 85%.

Sucks bro....hang in there. The body has an incredible way of healing itself. Don't listen to those dr's. they don't know everything (only what the drug companies teach them).
