Sharp pain in tailbone while deadlifting
So on Sunday I was doing deadlifts and on my last rep I got a sharp pain in my tailbone. This happened when I went to lift the bar off the ground. The rest of the day I was in a good amount of pain. I iced the area for the rest of the day. The next day I had almost no pain, but I could still feel it a little bit. Today (3rd day) the pain is completely gone. I don't have insurance to go see anyone, and since the pain is already gone i'm assuming it isn't too severe. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I'm going to take a few weeks off any lower back exercise, but even after that time is up i'm still afraid to go heavy on deadlifts again. I don't want to permanently mess something up in my back.
Edit: Forgot to add I barely warmed up for it. Maybe that has something to do with why this happened?Last edited by M4NTIS; 11-05-2013 at 11:36 PM.

any history of tailbone injury like falling on your back?
any history of lower lumbar nerve entrapment?

if there was no previous injury, and if the pain is already completely gone, then it probably is not something that is too serious. but you should take care not to aggravate it, don't go too heavy, and definitely warm up sufficiently.
