    Elbow pain after skull crushers

I've been really pushing weight jumps lately, on skull crushers I recently jumped up to 90 lbs. I was able to get 3 sets of 8, even though it was a struggle I was able to do it and keep good for when doing it so I thought I was fine. Next time I did tris I did 90 again, afterwards I noticed my arms were a little more sore than normal. The next morning I woke up with very sore elbows. The pain was actually in my elbows, felt like I cracked both of my elbows on a wall or something. I took 2 weeks off on tris, first time lifting tris again though the pain came back right away. Suggestions, tips?

When I was younger I could push em heavy, now that I'm older it hurts my elbows too, so I do other lifts.

This should probably be in the 'Lifting techniques' forum.

Make sure that the bars starting and ending position isn't directly above your eyes, but back about 6-9". Keeps tension off the elbows.

Light cable press downs to really get warmed up and compression supports for the elbow. Drop back on the poundage of the skullcrushers for awhile until you can wean yourself off of the elbow supports. Slowly start working the poundage back up...and really, I mean slowly.
