people who have had or will have back surgery get in here
I'm getting ready (in less than a week) to have two (or more) discs cut in a microdiscectomy. Anything I should know? (especially since i was mid cycle and have been off for over a week)
Also does anyone have any experience with endoscopic laser surgery vs a normal microdiscectomy?
Gonna try the tb-500 after to see if it boosts healing speed. Any other things i can do to speed up recovery?

Hi times, just a few days away now. What did you have done?
Are you still using that TB 500?
Also a follow up question… I've gone off cycle cold turkey for the past week and a half and will probably stay off for a week after the surgery possibly more pending how i feel. I was only on for 4 weeks, should I start PCT ?

I know of people who had the surgery your speaking of and we're back to normal activities within a couple weeks. These people were very overweight, and unhealthy, so normal activities were not very strenuous. I had a much more serious back surgery. I had 2 discs fused together. It was an anterior lumbar fusion at the l4-l5 disc.
Your best option is to speak to your doctor openly, and let him know what is going on. You know your doctor better than I do, but I could tell mine anything without worrying about him giving me a hard time. He would just tell me what I needed to make sure the surgery was successful.
Before and after my surgery my doctor suggested increasing protein intake, and suplementing vitamin c, zinc, arnica, bromelain, quercetin, probiotics, and CoQ10. These all supposedly offer beneficial effects for pre and post surgery. You might want to look into some of these and the benefits they can offer for surgical recovery.
After surgery my back is better than it has been in close to ten years. With just a slight range of motion loss. Good luck with your recovery, if you have been in pain you should feel much better.

How are you doing after the procedure times?
I had my open back discectomy on two discs done almost a full 2 weeks ago (which is why I've been offline… aka in bed doing nothing). I'm starting to feel ok to move around and pick stuff again.
When do you all who have had surgery think i should start doing physical therapy (I'm thinking about back extensions and other movements that directly work the lower back area here) and when do you think is a good time to start getting back into things like bench pressing (where the lower back is doing minimal work)?
plan is to wait 6 months for deadlift and maybe like 3 months for squats. but i would like to try and get back into using machines for my back, legs, shoulders and free weights for my chest and arms. I also want to start working on my core doing planks and get up to 10 minutes a set again.
