Inflammed Menisci
So the verdict on my knee issue that was leading to my perceived issues with the function of the left part of my posterior chain was moderate inflammation of my cartilage. I used to think I was a track athlete through school and I'm assuming the issue with my knee was probably associated with the events I participated in. (high jump/long jump/1500M
I didn't really think too much of my knee being the common denominator for the issues I've had lately. I haven't been able to successfully extend my left leg when my hip placement was at certain angles and trying to utilize some static stretching in the mornings when I woke up only seemed to exacerbate the lack of flexibility to my hamstring more and more. I assumed it was overstretched from how I run or from always practicing deficit deadlifts instead of just the plain ol' standard lifting technique. Anyone have an input or personal experiences with meniscus issues? I don't really do leg extensions all too often and when I do it's light weight to really create a good pump vs. heavy weight and progressive overloads.
I didn't know if this is weird, but I separate my legs into two different days. One day I focus on quads/hip flexors, adductors and the other day it's more hamstrings, gluts/calves. I think you have to dedicate a day to calves in order to really develop the calves that stand out from the crowd. People always neglect them
EDIT: I don't know if this is relevant as my physical therapist said it's an arguable variable, but I have been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's Type III as I don't have the associated thin epidermis, but I have been extremely hypermobile my whole life. I can still somehow put both of my legs behind my head without any discomfort. I can also continually play jump rope with my hands interlocked and just rotate my shoulder joints in a full 360 degrees. It's probably not healthy to do though.Last edited by Splifton; 09-16-2015 at 07:33 PM.
