    My MEGADOSING Experiment

For the past two weeks I have been experimenting with megadosing BCAAs everyday. I have been intaking, (in supplement form, not counting protein profiles) 30-35g daily. The effects haven't been anything crazy but worth mentioning are:

-Maitenance of Body weight while on a calorie defacit.
-Muscles are still full even though I have drastically cut carbs (125g -workout days, 75 non-workout days)
    -Increased vascularity
-Maitenance of stregnth on major lifts

    How i did it...

I picked up 1000g of BCAA powder
15-20 packets of peach crystal light
Threw it all in a ginormous ziplock
Shook the bag for about 3 mins to mix the two.

Honestly it tastes GREAT! Sure beats constantly drinking water....
I drink about 10g before my workout drinking it all the way through....

Worth a try, if you've got 35 bucks to spare. This should last me over a month. Any thoughts???

I like that idea with the crystal light man.

Seems kind of expensive to run 35 grams a day, but i'm gonna try that crystal light thing!

Its a "megadosing" exp. you dont have to do that much I mean you could just sip the 10gs through your workout and another 10gs through out the day. I was just posting my exp with goig that high

I have been mega dosing also with 35 grams BCAA and 35 grams Glutamine ED for the past 6 weeks while cutting and have had similar results. Normally when I cut I lose 2 lbs. a week like clockwork, this time around I lost an initial 3 lbs. water weight which is normal, then nothing. Haven't lost a lb. even though I have bumped up cardio to 6x/week and dropped calories, but my lifts are going up every week and my midsection is decreasing. At first it was frustrating because I wasn't losing the weight but now I am convinced I am losing the BF and retaining muscle, so I am not relying on the scales anymore.

Sorry I havent been around but yes still doing this with HUUUUUUUUUGE success. I have been cutting and muscle retention is great! not to mention the vascularity.

I have been dropping about 25g in a gallon of water and sipping that throughout the day and 10g through my workout.

Definitly worth it if you're cutting.

I am with samcam with mega dosing Glutamine - have you tried that AnabolicAndre? If so, how would you compare it to the BCAA's. Mega dosing Leucine seems to be getting a lot of attention lately too.

AnabolicAndre, have you found that your weight stayed the same or dropped only slightly through your cutting phase. As I stated earlier, my weight has stayed the same but my midsection is getting tighter, it really bothered me at first but it must be from the BCAA's and Glutamine and I have also been taking CEE Creatine at 10 grams a day. And for those wondering, it is fairly inexpensive, I buy all my powders in bulk and take them straight up - dump them in my mouth and chase it with water, nasty at first (especially the CEE, tastes like battery acid, I make a shot out of this with a little water and chase it down) but you get used to it.

I read a paper on it a couple months back.. a hypothesis for justifying the use of leucine in that capacity.

But i haven't heard any feedback on it. What've you heard/read on it's effectiveness Warrior? I'm interested.

(sorry to hijack the thread by the way Andre... i'm just curious about the whole megadosing concept)

My weight has been steady at 180 I have probably dropped 1-2%BF since i started now I am near 10 but I will post some pics by the end of the week.

I think its most benificial to prevent muscle loss during cardio.

As for the glutamine i actually added it to the mix along with VItamin B6 as it plays an important role amino acid synthesis.

this is the breakdown looks like-
    (per 2 teaspoons)~12g
    L-Leucine 3.5 g
    L-Glutamine 2.5 g
    L-Isoleucine 1.75 g
    L-Valine 1.75 g
    Vitamin B6 10 mg

    something like that..

I have been experimenting with Bromocriptine in dieting, and now testosterone with CKD - everything is really geared toward cutting right now. I might switch out the mega dose Glutamine I do post workout to Leucine or BCAA's but more than likely I will wait until I get clear from my current cycle and then try it. But I am deffintily going to try the Leucine thing out eventually... but the BCAA ratio looks attractive as well - leucine with the right ratio of the other essential aminos...

I just keep reading about Leucine (and MusscleTech's Leuckic for that matter) and have had a handful of people ask me at the gym. One advanced trainee friend of mine says he has already gained 10 pounds (in like a little better than a month since adding it to his routine)... and he keeps pretty lean...

I got mine from bulk nutrition.

Be careful with the high doses of luecine though, from what understand when you dose lucine you need up the ratios of the other BCAA which I think will be ok if you have a few protein shakes cause those have a pretty good ratio of BCAAs

I started to cut my workout nutrition from 40 grams glutamine post workout to 10 grams of the BCAA's preworkout and 30 grams glutamine post. Though my results may be skewed due to some concurrent TE use... but hell, I'll see what happens regardless...

I have been taking 10 grams of BCAA's preworkout (5g of Leucine, 2.5g of L-Isoleucine and 2.5g of L-Valine) for over a week and I can honestly say it does pick me up a little prior to training and helps with muscle contractions... and yesterday I maintained a nice pump post workout - which has rarely seemed possible in the 18 weeks I have been dieting down. So I agree with you dude... not sure if I will go as high as 30-35g's though... maybe if I get some bulk powder... right now, I am downing 20 of the BCAA capsules from Optimum...

-Muscles feel fuller, vascular and more pumped from training while low carb...
-Strength increases and greater endurance output...
-Preworkout mental outlook is improved (fights overtraining symptoms?)

Again, I am also on 250mg of TE E4D... so my results could be synergistic or otherwise skewed... but I have noticed changes since taking the BCAA's...

I use bulk BCAA at every workout. I feel it helps in recovery and deffinetly helped tremendously with DOMS. I use about 30grams per workout sipping through-out. I have heard its a must during pre contest, really helps save muscle. I use Scivation Xtend product.

I was just about to say. I would love to run that amount of BCAA's but it would make me bankrupt! The cost of it in the UK is quite high.
