before pics
Here are some pics from about a month ago. Gained about 10lbs since and the plan is to cut till april using diet and HIIT for cardio. The goals for april are to get down to about 190-200 or single digit BF%, and increase bench to 300+
my take on the pics:
- chest is obviously a week point, but that is the main target of my current routine.
- my best feature muscle-wise, IMO, would be my shoulders. They measure at 25.25" across, and I lift 90lbs for arnold presses and shrug 405lbs.
so, bring on the comments!

Pasta is a staple for dinner in this house. Whole wheat pasta and home made sauce made with diced tomatos and other veggies that I have lying around.
Supplement wise, the only thing I'm currently taking is a thermogenic supplement. Nothing too fancy, believe its called Get Ripped XP.
I don't usually need to pay too much attention to dieting as it's always been easier for me; I was diagnosed with ADD at 8yrs old and have been on amphetamines ever since. Currently I'm taking Dexedrine, which besides its uses for ADD, is also prescribed for medical weightloss treatments (in other words, some side effects are welcome in my mind).

But next week we'll see for sure. Before the current routine I was putting up 240x12, so I'm pretty sure I can go higher than 275.

I'm pretty sure I got all the Q's.

wheels
Damn camera phones...you have any idea how difficult it is to take pics of your own legs, making sure the pic is right side up, gets the whole leg in the pic AND is clear enough to read an effing tape measure?!
Here they are. I have never done any major work on my quads, but my current routine is set for 6 weeks and incorporates front squats. I've never done squats before, but after reading up I'm under the impression that they are the best for mass gains in legs. So lets hope.

Hopefully I can get a good set of pics soon. I haven't hit legs in over 2 weeks, so they aren't too impressive here. Some time either this week or next I'll get in a leg day and get some picks while pumped.
bring on the criticism. I want it all, especially what you think needs improvement and possibly how to get it.

hmmm.....i know that people that have already posted are probably looking at it again, but I'm sure that they are not the only ppl looking at this thread.
It's ok with me if you guys post a reply that is similar to something that was already said by another member you know. All I want is comments. I want to know what ppl think, where can I improve? I know that when I look at a thread I usually have an opinion on what has been said or what I saw.

thats some serious ass weight i would be careful with ur shoulders might do some serious damage i didnt think they were an exercise meant to go so low reps but hey to each there own

I have a spotter that I workout with who lifts just around the same weight as me. makes life easier, he makes sure that the weights avoid moving too far forward or too far back.
but thanks for the warning. I was looking to switch it to a more "advanced" exercise. and suggestions to what could replace arnold presses in my routine?

i always used arnold for more of a shaping exercise and saved my normal presses or clean and press for the fronts
-
02-21-2006, 04:04 AM #32
I was under the impression that, as well as hitting delts, arnold's were also useful in hitting the traps at the same time. Any validity to this?

opens eyes......... hey look its a new post from an incredibly impatient member. J/K. You look good bro, I would say that your shoulders over power your arms, and your legs are looking good. I would also say to lay off the 90lb arnold presses, but thats just my opinion. Since your doing a 5x5 routine, this would be the perfect time to switch your main shoulder excersise to push presses. They are perfect for that rep range, and really pack on the mass. Good luck with whatever you choose.

thanks man, i was thinking either push press, clean & press, power cleans, or snatches.
anyone got advice on which are good, which are bad?
-
02-21-2006, 09:45 AM #37
I have always liked snatches.......lol
