Good luck man. What weight class do you plain on doing,Welterweight Class? Quads look good, just focus on adding upper body mass before your next show. But for your first show you look good and it should a good learning experience. wish i had the balls to step on stage but i want to get up to at least 200lbs at 5'7" before my first show

Not trying to flame at all, but arms are the only thing that dont seem to match the rest. But I must give congrats you ahve come a long way in your prep since the first pics i saw. How does the diet look?

Goodluck brother, next time around either start dieting further out from the show or change up whatever you did, you've still got quite a bit of fat to take off.
Have fun with it.

i would have guessed your weight at lower than 171lbs. abs are looking good, legs ofcourse are looking great, id say your coming along nicely. what is your bodyfat at now? id have guessed at around 7-8%

You've come a long way, you should be very proud of yourself. Take this show as a learning experience and go out and have fun with it, no matter what happens or how you place. The good news is after this show you'll grow like a weed, I make terrific gains after every show I've done.

I agree with you there I B, not about the diet or starting further out, but I need to change something to avoid the stagnation in fat loss that I hit....I mean I have to admit that for a combination of reasons it was hard to maintain discipline sometimes, whether it be my ailment, which I can explain if you would like, or the fact that I live in a fraternity house, college town, and go to a major party school, lol, but even considering those things I did as good as i could do to resist...However, there is a dreadful word that i thought I would never say I need, but its clear that my body kinda stagnated from 4 weeks out to now....CARDIO!!! haha, i think next show I'm gonna need to induce some more cardio into my prep around 3-4 weeks out to push my body past this plateu that I have clearly hit...

No its ok Chest I will let everyone in on the secret...its not a big deal, but nonetheless in a sport where everything you put into your body makes a difference, then in that sense it is a big deal....I have, as the doctors call it, "a spasmatic stomach" which essentially means that from time to time, for no reason, and with no warning, my stomach with essentially have a panic attack, fit, convulsion, whatever you want to call it, but essentially it closes itself off, and doesn't let anything through....WHy is this a problem? Because when I eat my first meal of a day, then the next, and the next, that food, instead of going through my stomach, my intestines, and what have u, just sits there, undigested, piling on top of itself and seriously jamming up my system...Thus, the more food, the more pain I get right up under my ribcage and the more pressure there is causing doubled over uncomfortableness....So I learned, through my years of experience with my problem, that to get this **** in pain to go away, if I made myself throw up then the food is gone, pressure relieved, and maybe my stomach will calm down...It all goes together too because the food that gets thrown up could honestly be from 6 hours previous, or more, and you could look at the throw up and say "thats eggs, thats rice, thats salad" etc. Point is that the food is completely undigested, just chewed. And thus, not passing through my stomach, piling up on itself, and creating tons of pressure on my midsection and a lot of pain...So essentially what I do is try to not eat at all for atleast a period of a good nights sleep after I throw up and see if that period of relaxation for my stomach will allow it to unspasm and open back up....So you can see how this would throw off my eating schedule, lifting schedule, any schedule really....The only thing I really can eat when this happens is dry carbs, like bread, rice, etc, dont ask me why but that doesnt seem to bother my stomach during the "relaxation period"...Another problem is that I will be issue free for 2 months maybe, then have an episode, and as happened tonight coincidentally, I could have an occurance twice in two weeks, so it sucks....Another problem is it doesn't always get better overnight, sometimes I need to rest my stomach for an entire day or even two, this sucks the most....I can't train if I can't eat, period.
So it ****s everything up, but I aint gonna let something like this hold me down, i've come to far, worked to hard to let some bullshit shitty hand that I was dealt hold me down from what I want to acheive...I jsut gotta learn how to accomplish what I want to accomplish while working around it....So now you know, but if there is any issues in my contest prep and appearance its because I've had times like this and as a result can't stay as consistent as i would like with both my eating, lifting, and rest. Also, I tend to get pissed off when this happens and have sort of a cheat snack usually, mainly because I can eat like a cookie or a muffin or somethign of that sort, because it won't upset my stomach. And not to mention u can imagine how **** in hungry I am when i have these occurances.....so u guys are all filled in on that...I'm still fighting as good as I can, I had an episode this weekend, I wont lie....

Hey... thanks for sharing a health problem which is so personal. It only makes your discipline, commitment, and achievements even more remarkable.

Well I had mentioned it before, it was about time I revealed what it was, and its nice to get it off my chest too, believe me its very frustrating. Espescially when I'm willing to sacrifice, eat healthy, and lift hard, while other people my age are getting wasted, ordering shitty late night food, and things of that nature, and I'm the one who gets "sick", that is bullshit, thats why I get mad...

Man that seems very bad for bb'ing purposes. So..saying you try to eat 4-5k calories in the offseason...that would be very hard because the food from previously in the day hasnt been digested? So say you eat 4k calories..only maybe a fraction of that gets used in your body?

Thanks Plastic, it gets harder by the day, I won't lie, but if I can place it will be SOOO worth it...it will be worth it regardless, but that much more gratifying...

You'll be surprised at how worth it the experience really is, even if you get dead last. I've placed bad in more than 1 show, but everytime I've come back bigger and better than before, and thats what makes it so gratifying. You've done a great job, despite your digestive problems which you mentioned above. Someday you'll look back at the pics of your first show and laugh, because you've transformed into so much more. I laugh my ass off everytime I look at mine, hahahah, couldnt pose for shit, I placed 2nd to last in the novice heavyweights!!! But damn it was fun!!

Yeah, if your referring to your post about your stomach I read it. Are you able to mix things w/ the dry carbs? Such as "hiding" protien in the carbs. What about grits mixed w/ tuna fish? I eat this alot. What happens when you cut the protien intake down, is it as bad? I dont believe you need an assload of protien to grow, I think the whole 1-2 grams/lb of bodyweight is blown out of proportion.

your thoughts on that?? as well as my answer to ur inquiry about my stomach....
As far as my stomach goes, the carbs thing is just a theory of mine, i mean for all intents and purposes, when my stomach is in the real spasm period, meaning when i am under pain, and for an extended period after vomitting, if I eat anything that shit is coming back up...I've just found that the day after I am less likely to incur the symptoms again when I don't eat at all, or having what I do eat come from some simple carbs, but bottom line, 3-5 hours post vomitting, no matter what I eat, its going to sit on a closed, spasming stomach, cause pain, and force my mind into submission and I'll submit to making myself vomit, anything to make that pain go away....
