    Stayinstacked contest pics

Well, I got my ass kicked, placed 4th out of 4. The level of competition this year was pretty tough, but I had fun and gave it 110%, good to be eating and bulking again though!!

You looked good SS, thats all I can say, i don't have enough experience yet with this sort of comparison to say why u placed the way you placed, you did as good as you could do, and thats comendable!!! I'm tryin to do the same, hopefully that will be enough!!

No, I will most likely return to bodybuilding, however I am training for powerlifting at least until next spring or summer. My only movements will be squat, bench, incline bench, deadlifts, bent over rows and T-bars, and pullups. My goal is to try to stay under 220lbs but gain as much muscle and strength as I can at under 220 lbs. My biggest reason for the switch is my family, my time, and my wallet. Bodybuilding is fun, and it's nice to be the guy that everybody looks at and compliments sometimes, but it can consume you if you let it. I have to back off and change a few things in my life before I can continue to do more shows. But I figure why quit right? Maybe I can change a few things, change the way I train, and still continue to get bigger and stronger, so all I'll have to do is diet down and be better than b4 if I wanna.

I placed the way I placed because of my quads and my muscle maturity. When your younger your body never looks as dense and as hard as a guy who is in his 30's and 40's. Now the guys who took 1st and 2nd deserved it, I'm not sure if I can say 4th was fair though.

I got puffy as hell b4 I dieted down, real puffy. I was 250 at the start if the diet, weighed in at 197 the day of the show. So 53 lbs in 14 wks. I immediately gained 20 lbs after the show.

Love your mentallity SS...You see its people like you who are the reason I talk about adictive personalities and weak people, and why people abuse things/let them consume them, and not whatever they end up being into...REasonability and consistent rationlity, not rationlization, are what allow people to be successful. Good luck!

you looked real good. not as tight as the others when compared, especially mid section. great work. sucks that every time you compete you can never really produce the same look at every show because of all the variables in life. keep competing, you definately deserve to do it for yourself.

looking great onstage, and your calfs are looking thick! good luck with the powerlifting, im guessing the food/drugs wont be so extensive/precise as bodybuilding can be. great outlook, go out on your terms, and change direction for awhile

I was not natural during my contest prep, but my usage was minimal. My plan from this point on is simple. I'd like to keep my bodyweight under 220lbs, and I'll be doing mostly heavy compound exercises. I'll be leinient at times w/ my diet, however as soon as that scale tops 220 I'll tighten up and increase cardio. I feel that if I can stay under 220lbs, but still get bigger and stronger, I'll become more thick and dense and eventually become leaner off season as my muscle mass increases but weight is kept down. I think 220 lbs at 9-10% bodyfat would be a good look to carry during a building phase. Who knows, maybe I'll end up getting to 225 or 230, but I'm not trying to gain weight just to gain weight, it's all quality this time around.

I wont be cycling steroids for at least 6 months, my wife and I are going to try to have a baby in 5 months, she's got 5 months left on her pills, then we're trying. Time to get some money in the bank and life in perspective. There will be more shows, w/ due time

Bro, those pics in the motel parking lot werent the day after, it was about 2 hrs after. What happened was a few factors which hurt me more than helped

#1- I went to extremes to make weigh in for the light heavies which hurt my pump and fullness, flattened my bi's and quads(ie: 3, 50mg dyazides Fri, after weigh in Fri at 202 decided only to eat a grilled Tilapia and steamed broccoli that evening, so I could weigh in the next morning at under 198)

#2- I started my shitload late, at 7:45 Sat morning since I had to reweigh at 7:30, yes I did shitload. I had 5 doughnuts, pancakes and bacon, a couple candy bars, and 2 packs of skittles. My plan was to start shitloading at 5:30 that morning, hence why I looked so much damn better 2-3 hrs after prejudging, the effect was late!!!

#3- I dropped my water, I will never EVER drop water again. I was down 53 lbs by prejudging from the start of the diet. I believe if you come to the damn show in shape, the water drop is negligable and will hurt your appearance more than help it. I think the trend is starting to wind down, I know alot of guys who quit doing it and place very well.
