Good base?
Newb here. After years or working out, I've finally decided to dive in the deep end. Decided to run something "light" for my first go around with 250mg Test Enanthate weekly.
I want to see how my body reacts before I start upping dosages. Less is more in some instances. If I see good gains, I'll stay flat. If not, I'll pyramid up until I do.
Stats
Age: 29
Height: 5' 11 5/8"
Weight: 228
Chest: 48 1/4"
Stomach: 38"
Waist: 36"
Quads: 27" R 27" L
Calves: 16 1/4" R 16" L (prior torn Achilles)
Arms: 17 1/2" R 17 1/4 L (right handed. need to even out)
With that being said, we'll see where things go. My frame is pretty wide and I packed on quite a bit of weight natty started at 174lbs. Hopefully this will give me that little bit of assistance to get where I want to be physically.
End goal is physique. Haven't done a show yet, but when I do, I'd like to place. Won't hop on stage until I think I'm ready.

I would suggest doubling that and would still call it light. Inject 250 Monday morning and 250 Thursday evening. Have aromasin for an a.i., 12.5 daily.

if you've been lifting for the several years as you have said you did, then your connective tissue should be ready. Frame looks good mate. Physique should be ready. Hormonally ready (post 25+ years old).
I'd say you are green to go.
Good luck!

sorry, didn't read the entire thread as I should have.
250mg/week is a dose that tells me you are "unsure". I would suggest 500mg/week. If you do decide to stay at the 250, then I'd suggest staying the course for the entire cycle. Problem is, test E doesn't kick in for almost a month. And by changing the dose, it will take a while for THAT to kick in too. Too confusing.
If you feel the need to be able to adjust on the fly, then suggest Test A, something you would be pinning daily. Fast burning esther. kicks in in about a week. Easier to change course mid cycle. But you would need to reduce cycle length too, to say maybe about eight weeks.

You're right with the "unsure" feeling. I just hear horror stories of guys running aas over the years so I figure I'd ease into it to see if I pick up any sides. I've had naturally "puffy" nipples since I was 11 (hit puberty early) and am deathly afraid of gyno. My guy has clomid and letro on deck if it comes to that.
I only plan on running 10 weeks with the current dosages. I literally lurked this forum for 5 months and several cancelled orders. My guy has been patient through it all. He's also echoed your sentiments that I should be running 400/500mg a week.
I'm probably one of the most risk averse people to come through this forum though. If I see gains running this low, I'll stay the course throughout the cycle and minimize potential sides and make PCT that much "smoother." If I don't see the gains, I've essentially wasted 4 weeks of a 10 week cycle. That is what it is.
I'll be documenting my progress (taking measurements, strength gains, weight change, etc...). Hopefully I don't end up with egg on my face. This is still 4/5x more than what men produce naturally after all.

Simply follow this advice:
My First Cycle: Planning and Executing a Successful First Cycle
Remember, 250mgs per week will shut you down just like 500mgs will. It's not the lesser of two evils. Follow Austinites protocol.
And keep up the hard work. It shows.
Welcome to the forum!

Nutrition has never really been my strong suit. I've cleaned up the diet substantially (no beer, fast food, soda, etc.). I have a cheat meal on Saturdays whenever I go out with my old lady. I just fall short in measuring my caloric intake.
My TDEE is just north of 3100 cal a day. I may invest in a nutritionist just to help me map out what I should be eating and when.
