New old fart back in the gym
Hello everyone I am Brian, 53 year old recovering alcoholic, with 2 years sobriety, the gym was a passion of mine for many years until i got hurt in 2010, I was a concrete guy for close to 30 years and a volunteer fireman, When I hurt myself and was not able to be as active, the alcohol and binge eating got out of control, but between eating cleaner and being back in the gym I am down 90 pounds and have put back on a good amount of muscle, feeling great and have a hop in my step! I do dabble in concrete for extra cash still, but I work full time as a sobriety/ life coach at a local mens treatment facility I look forward to interacting with you all and am happy to be here!

Hey Brian...Im D from Arizona and am 38 years old. Your story reminds me of my own. I used to be pretty active and workout a lot but I got in a 3X rollover accident about 8 years ago. 1 Dr suggested I go on part time disability and find an under the table job and take it easy. I fired him. I couldn't walk a lot for a year and did PT for years and have finally gotten to the point where I can train without pain or many limitations. Finding the right people for bodywork has made a huge difference, but a lot of it also comes down to personal care and work ethic. My body feels like arse when I get up in the morning whether I work out or not but training has definitely improved how I feel throughout the day. They had me on pain killers for a few years until I voluntarily got off them...that was a real bish so I have a lot of respect for what you do helping people get sober! Best wishes in your training!
