Experts: video games not responsible for shooting

A gunman who opened fire in a Montreal school, killing a young girl and wounded more than a dozen others, played a video game based on the Columbine shooting.

The game, called "Super Columbine Massacre," uses 1980s graphics and can be downloaded from websites. Players recreate the U.S. tragedy that left 13 people dead.

"It's really not about the graphics but it's really about him acting on his impulses and having a way to express these impulses," psychiatrist Ariel Dalfen says of the game's typical player.

P.S I played the columbine game myself and I played alot of games, I have to say this is one fvcked up game and should not be played. Here is a quote I made 4 months ago about the game. I recieved alot of comments as you can see below.Click Here to read the entire thread

I played tons of games in my time, you name the game I probably played it but you dont see me carrying out these radical, terrorist acts. Some people cant handle violent games.

I'm just saying that's a poor ass excuse...The same can be said about people shooting people because of Rap music...I play video games as well all kinds..I don't think using them as a crutch for peoples violence is at all correct..

Columbine game was interesting not only because its based on a real tragedy but because of how it was made. A columbine survivor Richard Castaldo, who was paralyzed from chest down, played the game and said himself that he appreciated the fact at least to some degree that something like this was made.

Richard Castaldo talks about the game Columbine Massacre RPG.

at first it just surprised me that someone would make a game like that. And I know most peoples knee-jerk reactions would probably be that it is horrible and disgusting and stuff like that. But, I just thought I should play it to see what it actually was. I didn't think it was necessarily bad, if i was done the right way, which at least part of it seemed to be.
    ~~Richard Castaldo

What did you think of it?
It probably sounds a bit odd for someone like me to say, but I appreciate the fact at least to some degree that something like this was made. I think that at least it gets people talikng about Columbine in a unique perspective, which is probably a good thing. But that being said there are a lot of things that are har to play or watch. And it seems to partially glamorize what happened. It shows a stark-contrast between fantasy and real life in an interesting way.

I like the part in the game where if you go up to the water fountain theres a thing that comes up that explains that the water in denver is a little bit hard because it contains calcium and magnesium but is harmless. Answering the hypothetical question of "Was there something in the water, that caused this?" Clearly not, and the causes for this are not easily apparent.
