GOLDEN, Colo. — A jury Wednesday convicted a middle school teacher on 35 felony charges stemming from a scheme to have students in his class undress so he could photograph them in sexually explicit poses in exchange for items, including a duck call.

Marshall Adam Walker, 33, was convicted on 30 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, three counts of unlawful sexual contact, and two counts of enticement of a child, district attorney spokeswoman Pam Russell said in a statement.

Walker developed relationships with three boys — ages 13, 14, and 15 at the time — while he was a student teacher at Bell Middle School in Golden in 1997 and at Everett Middle School in Wheat Ridge, where he taught from 1998 until his arrest in May, Russell said.

He met one of the boys at Bell and two others while at Everett.

Prosecutors said Walker would invite the boys to go hunting, shooting, movies and going out to eat. To get the boys to pose, he would offer them items such as a gun, pornographic videos, and in one case, change a failing grade, prosecutors said.

Walker, of Thornton, taught science, coached boys basketball and participated in hunting and fishing activities, sheriff's officials said.

Ex-Sisters pastor convicted on abuse charges

After one full day of deliberation, a Deschutes County jury found a former Sisters pastor guilty on all six charges Friday in the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl whose family worshiped at the church.
Deschutes County Circuit Judge Michael Sullivan set a Feb. 20 sentencing date for Jeremy Shane Hall in the September 2005 fondling of the teen.

The former pastor of Christ Church of New Beginnings was convicted of five counts of sex abuse and one count of unlawful sexual penetration. Hall now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of six years and three months in prison.

Deputy District Attorney Victoria Roe told jurors the teen was babysitting Hall's daughter the night he touched her sexually, both over and under her clothes.

Hall admitted getting into bed with the teen and his two young children who were sleeping in his room, but denied fondling the girl. His attorney, John Halpern Jr., pointed out during closing arguments that the defendant's daughter had testified nothing happened.

DALLAS --A teenage girl claims in a lawsuit that a former coach at an elite gymnastics academy sexually assaulted her and encouraged her to use cocaine to lose weight.

Breaking News Alerts The lawsuit accuses the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy's owners -- the father of national champion Nastia Liukin and the coach of Olympic gold medalist Carly Patterson -- of failing to screen and supervise Christopher Wagoner.

Wagoner, 33, faces trial Sept. 18 in Dallas County on sexual assault charges involving the girl, who was 14 at the time. He has pleaded not guilty. Wagoner does not face any drug-related charges.

"When you take your child to a world-class gym and pay for instruction, you really expect the instructors to be screened, trained and supervised," said Frank Branson, the girl's attorney.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, does not seek a specific amount of money from owners Valeri Liukin and Yevgeny Marchenko, and does not accuse them of abuse.

Wagoner, who worked at the academy before the 2004 Olympics, and his attorney declined to comment on the case.

Bill Boyd, the gym's attorney, said all instructors undergo a criminal background check before they are hired. He said the gym was unaware of any misconduct accusations until police investigated in 2005, after Wagoner had left.

"If this is true, it is a very sad thing," Boyd said.

According to the criminal case, Wagoner sexually assaulted the girl on a regular basis for over a year at his apartment and at the academy's two gyms.

According to the lawsuit, Wagoner became the girl's personal coach in 2002. After first encouraging her to try bulimia to lose weight, he suggested cocaine, saying it would also give her energy, the lawsuit said.

Wagoner was indicted last year after being arrested in Jacksonville, Fla., where he was working as a gymnastics instructor.

He has been in Dallas County jail since June with a bond of $155,000.

Pornographer Gets Life for Child Sex Abuse

(AP) WACO A seven-time convicted felon was sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter, getting her pregnant and taking lewd photographs of her.

Jurors deliberated for about 90 minutes Friday before deciding punishment for Donnie Earl Witt, a 48-year-old native of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was convicted of sexual assault of a child and eleven counts of possession of child pornography.

Witt met the girl's mother, Rebecca Linton, while she was a secretary at an Oklahoma prison where he was serving time.

Linton and the girl testified that Witt came to live with them after his parole in September 2003 and that he quickly began a romantic relationship with the girl.

Linton is serving a seven-year federal prison term for aiding and abetting the production of child pornography. Assistant District Attorney Beth Toben said the girl was 14 when she discovered she was pregnant with twins. The girl, now 16, put her babies up for adoption, was president of her sophomore class and is living with relatives in Oklahoma.
