Britneys case turning out to be interesting legal battle

    http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/15/state-...-jurisdiction/

Have you ever seen a case where one of these hollywood out of control hollywood celebs (weather it be Tommy Lee bodyslamming photogs or Shannen Doherty trying to run over her boyfriend and trashing her own house (1993) was denied their basic civil and constitutional rights?

Britney's civil rights are being violated:
    - Incarcerated
    - Money and possessions taken away
    - Not allowed freedom of movement
    - Not allowed to see or even talk on the phone to whomever she wants
    - Forced medication
    - DENIED HER OWN COUNSEL TO ADVISE/REPRESENT HER ON THIS!!!

is this yet another sign that Americans are losing their rights?

She was found incompetent to manage everyday activity by a judge, the police ,and a physician can do this to on a temporary basis(baker act). If she keeps up that kind od bizzare behavior it will get worse.

Actually the Psyc ward released her, which generally means she is competent, the doctors their released her and found no reason she could not drive herself..you have to be mentally competent to drive a car. The entire case is highly irregular..I'm sure there are many parents of 26 year olds would like to have the power to treat them like a 5 year old, but the courts would have never allowed this conservatorship to stand, or put it into effect in the 1st place had this been just another person that had a "nervous breakdown" or "anxiety attack" or "possibly may hurt themselves".. people go into that psych ward all the time and are released and then things are back to normal.. 26 year olds are never released to such an absurd situation where they are in physical bondage- enforced by 'bodyguards' ..

They need to inact the "20 yard" requirement that has been kicked around for the last few years on the paparazzi.

Well weeks and probably another $1,000,000 later (costs charged to the Californian tax payer + charges levied against Ms. Spears estate) Britney continues to be subject to this conservertership

Can anyone now be considered "MENTALLY INCOMPETENT" Mentally incompetent people under the law are people who are deemed [unable to feed themselves and unable to dress themselves, unable to care for themselves, unable to use the bathroom etc. people of late stages alzheimers are typically in this type of conservertership.

What exactly are the terms of the incarceration, we hear reports that Britney is not allowed to call who she wants and is not allowed to have a cell phone, she is denied legal council, she has been denied her right to address the court. She is not allowed to drive her car; not allowed to see who she wants or to go where she wants (the court has given her parents total control over her life) who she is forced to live with (she is said to want them out of her house) Her Parents lawyers continue to charge Ms. Spears accounts for $100,000 of dollars a week, these expenses include 2500$s a week for Jamie Spears, 40,000$ to defend against an action to bring the case to federal court (which Ms. Spears herself initiated) $58000 to pay for quack testimony in which an 'expert' testifies that Britney is not 'mentally competent' enough to appear in court. 1000s more to pay Bryan Spears and another lawyer to be 'trustees' on the case..this looks more like a case of corruption. Britney continues to work, shop, teach dance classses, make comeos on tv shows..YET the judge has extended the conservertership for another 5 months..and at the end of the 5 months the court will supposedly hear arguments that the conservertership be made PERMANENT .. meanwhile Ms. Spears has been seen moping around in a very depressed state (for the obvios reason-that she can't shake this incarceration.

I never seen a case like this before..bad economy, greedy lawyers, corruption.

but is it not ok to be 'eccentric' or to live a wild, even possibly destructive lifestyle..like the examples i made in the first post, she's not exactly the 1st celebrity to behave eratically, and she's certainly not the worst..although she's definently the 1st to be placed under a represive conservertership. so WTF .. does everyone have to be a fking robot now..so she doesn't wear underware and sometimes drives to fast, or parties too much and goes from store to store to gas station at 3am..what is the big deal here? if that what she likes to do..whats going on with this thing??
